^^^Yeah, the album is rumored to be more in the vein of Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground, also with styles and sounds they have never used before...can't wait and makes me want to make an AFI thread too lol.

they were supposed to have an EP out earlier this year but I haven't heard shit about it lately...

wiki says
A new EP was set for a December release, however, Havok announced through the Despair Faction forums, that it would not be available until early 2008. It will contain previously unreleased songs from the Decemberunderground and Sing the Sorrow sessions. Adam later announced more details regarding the EP, saying that some of the songs will be new and never before heard, some fans may have heard (like Carcinogen Crush), and some fans may know about but never have heard before. He also said that a release date will be announced soon.
The track listing of the EP was made public on April 2, 2008 on The Complete AFI Series' Message Board. There's a rumour of a Wake-Up Call (from Very Proud of Ya) re-recording, demo, or reference in one of the songs.[15]
In addition to the upcoming EP, the band is currently working on a new album. Recording sessions have begun at The Art of Ears, the same studio where the band recorded much of their earlier material.[16]

I'm pretty sure that Wiki is where I got the info about the new album A Star Impaled, so that's what I meant to quote in my post....I also remember hearing them basically say that the concepts of Sing the Sorrow were just made for the fans to figure out what the lyrics meant for themselves.

Eh, just last night I thought of like four albums that should replace some on the list I just wrote a few days ago including one that would probably be in the top 5. I forget what came out when sometimes.
