I am trying to get in shape for BMT.... and I just did2 minute interval situps and was only able to do 50 in that time frame... Pushups I was only able to do 30 in that period!!!!! fuck any suggestions on how to get in better shape

Just keep doing it... repetition builds muscle. Give your self some days off from exercising so those muscles develop.

Do weights one day, cardio the next and so on. While one muscle set is developing work on the next

they will get you in shape in boot camp, well at least by air force standards lol. you will do so much marching around you will get in decent shape though. I think i got more of a workout marching from place to place than from the workouts we did. honestly i dont remember excercizing all that much. most of the time you were marching from place to place going to class and filling out hella paperwork. that shit was like 10 years ago for me though its all a blur now

you really dont need to worry about getting in shape for basic, you will get into shape there.
i went to boot camp running a 1 1/2 miles in 15 min man, came out doing it in 11:40. thats still slow but im a horrible runner so fuck it, as long as i pass hah

Diet and cardio (walking, jogging, swimming, etc.) will cause you to lose weight.

Sit ups and push ups will just help build muscle. You will just end up building muscle on top of fat.

If you are pressed for time stick with water, vegetables and protiens. Then exercise (not work out, huge diff) and you will start losing weight.

Once you get down to what you should be for your age and height, start working on muscle.

if you wanna lose weight and get in shape.. honestly the only real good way is strenght training.. not only are you building muscle.. but since you are building muscle you are also speeding up your metabolism and burning fat. You still watch what you eat but its not some strict ass diet shit.

Right now im strenght training been doing it for 2 months now.. mostly working on my arms/chest/shoulders.. only way to get abs if you dont already have them and youre kinda chubby is to burn that layer of fat on top of them.

MWF i work out.. sometimes ill switch it up to.. sunday, tuesday, thursday's so i can go out and party or do shit.

Once you get in the habit its all good. I also bought some fish oil and shark cartlidge pills for my joints and heart. And i bought 5 pounds of flaxseeds that i ground up into a 'flour' like powder that i sprinkle on my yogurt, cereal, or anything i eat.. just enough benefit.. its good for you and helps prevent cancer and other diseases.. just makes you feel healthier. Its also good for getting shit outta your system.. and by that i mean taking the cleveland browns to the superbowl.
