Dre Dog a bay legend, something A-Wax will never be. His first 3 albums all classics and thats not up for debate and just those 3 shit on Waxs whole discography. He also still has a way bigger fanbase then Wax will ever have. Ya Boy has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better flows then A-Wax. Its not even close. Wax is the most boring rapper on Earth btw, like a lot of folks said hes put you to sleep
How can you compare dre dog to A wax? Thats not even a conversation. Dre Dog was selling records and rapping about smoking cocaine while wax was in the pen for murder.... I would say dre dog has a huge head start. Also, dre dog dropped albums when not that many people were dropping albums so it was way EASIER to sell records. Which in turn means it was a shit ton easier to make a fan back then.
So you can have any opinion about wax and him being garbage but at least compare him to artists that are in his lane.

Dre dog could rap about sucking unicorn dicks over ymca instrumentals till the end of time, he has numerous classic bay songs, he crossed over with ayo for yayo, mormon kids in butt fuck utah can sing that song line for line, smoke dope and rap, thats two classic songs decade or more apart, he has the ablity to make hit songs, a-wax doesnt.
imo wax has mixtapes that are more solid from beginning to end than anything nicky has ever put out. nicky got records tho.
imo it's a very difficult comparison to make. nicky is a very concept driven artist, his strength is in being very metaphorical and his rhymes are like stream-of-conciousness. a-wax at his best is both street and intellectual, both to such a degree that i don't think anyone else in the rap game could ever do, period. it makes wax really hard to relate to or get into for most people.
he's not defined by his affiliations in the bay area, and he's also not defined by being a piru. this makes him hard for people to put in a box they can understand him in.
