in order for any team to have a reasonable chance to land alex in ther city heres what they gotta do. i aint talkin about the obvious teams with a lotta duckets. negotiate with the higher-paid players to see if ther willing to defer some of ther salary until after they retire. that way arods money demands dont become a financial burden

A-Rod will make whatever team he ends up joining TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR. Why should he NOT get the lions share of that? Listen to what you people are saying! What kind of low-ass self esteem do you have???

If you were a salesman for a company, and you were making them millions of dollars in profit every year, and NO OTHER SALESMAN could deliver those same numbers......what would YOU expect to be paid? $50,000? Get the fuck out of here.
YOu think the YANKEES need him to make a profit??? LOL! Cmon now, bro...youre just reaching.

The Yankees don't "need" him to make money, but he makes them money none the less.

Also, this contract is a chance for a team to get themsleves some long term historical PR. Whoever signs Arod, is basically signing their way to have their team forever associated with Arod when he breaks all the records. 50 years from now, people will remember Arod on the team he broke the HR record etc, on. The Mariners, Texas, and NY will all be a sidenote.

I agree with this, Arod will make whatever team he signs with lots of money, get them lots of publicity, sell jerseys, fill seats up, etc., Think about how much money an owner makes and how much more he could make with Arod on his team. Even 350 mil is nothing compared to how much money the profit will be...

Part of the Yankees being such a huge franchise is them fielding a competitive team - laden with superstars. If they didn't, they might not have the huge following they do.

Having said that, signing A-Rod keeps this pattern going and continues to have the Yankees selling tickets and merchandise. A-Rod would sell tickets by himself for any team he went to that isn't the Yankees, so I agree Mr. Nice Guy too.
