So I came across a PS3 KZ2 and MGS4 bundle for a player price, and I'm gonna buy it if the guy still has it. However, I have some questions about connecting it to my Samsung LCD (720p). My 360 is connected to the LCD via VGA, and it looks good. My question is twofold:

1. Does Sony, or anyone else, make a VGA/PC cable that I can use?

2. Since my LCD has a native resolution of 720p, will I encounter issues if I use an HDMI cable and try to play games that are 720P and 1080i?

Get at me and thanks for any info.

see what you need to do is hook the ps3 up to the lcd using a hdmi cable

on your ps3 in the display settings there should be an option where you decide whether to run your games in 720 or 1080 or whatever

choose 720

your games will now run at full 720p without any issues

hope this helps

Nah 720 and 1080i are two different settings, and part of the reason why I'm asking this has to do with the things I read about the ps3 and hdmi handshake, the ps3 attempting to upscale to 1080i even though you set it to 720, and a couple of other things.

Good lookin out people.

get casino royale on blu-ray.

the ps3 will detect the hdmi cable and ask you if it can check for the optimal setting.

once it does, it will ask for you to approve it.

I needa to get a PS3 for that blu-ray. I just got a 42" 1080p lcd and I can't play my 360 as much because I don't wanna get the spots and the still images. I went from playing my 360 from 6 hours a day down to about 20 minutes a week.
