I don't know about restricting this part to only African-Americans, but I see what your post is saying. But in my opinion, the whole educational system of America is in the shitter. There are problems everywhere. For example, down here we have the major problem of Spanish-speaking immigrant children (the kids are not a problem, I welcome them). You have to teach them in both Spanish and English so you don't leave them too far behind. Plus I do believe the educational system is brainwashing ALL students, especially at a much younger age than before. They are doing this through incorporating computers in the classroom at a much younger age (granted they were almost nonexistent when I was in elementary school). Kids in elementary school know how to build webpages. I don't even know how to do that. People graduate from high school and have to type everything because their handwriting is so piss-poor. Most don't even know how to write in cursive anymore. The educational system is brainwashing with computers, focusing more on those to prepare people for jobs to better our economy and ignoring such skills as reading, writing, and arithmetic (remember the 3 R's tests you used to take).
