a kid i know was trying to tell this to me, saying it was a conspiracy to "Lift the spirit" of new orleans, but he was saying it was rediculous, etc. lets just say hes not the most accepting person in the world. but i was thinking about it, and i was like, "how insecure are americans?" Because as much as i love sports, its just football. how is winning the superbowl gonna "revive" new orleans? people will celebrate and feel good for a little while, but its like taking medication. Its not a real "Revival". but maybe im just cynical.

its a ghetto revival! halleluja, holla back!

lol, nah, if the saints win the superbowl it won't be about rebuilding new orleans, it'll be about showing how much new orleans has improved since katrina.....the parades and celebrations will be a media frenzy, showing them parading thru the french quarter (which wasn't really harmed in katrina) and will bring a boost in tourism.....when is mardi gras again? is it after the superbowl?

^^^But it hasnt improved anything. football is a business, plain and simple. and the nfl has become OBSESSED with success stories. just look how much they rode Pittsburgh's dick this year.

I mean, half of me wants to believe that the nfl isn't rigged and that its not possible for that to happen......but I know it can be done....it would just sicken me if the nfl is really riggin shit.....unless they start riggin it so the raiders stop losing, then I'm fine with it :classic:

Yeah, I wouldnt say the league is fixed but their is definitely a little push for things to go a certain way. I have been waitin to see this NFC championship game to see who gets the close calls from the refs. Last years superbowl was definitely to the NFLs advantage for the Steelers to win. As far as all the revenue that would create. I mean the Steelers probably have the most fans in the NFL along wit GB and Dallas. Compare the money the NFL would make off them havin the tradition rich Steelers win or the Seahawks who dont have a fan outside of Seattle. There was without a doubt a lil push given by the NFL on that one.

The Saints were going to win last year but the plans were spoiled due to Aaron Brooks, who double crossed the Illuminati and played poorly on purpose because of guilt. When the elite masters learned of his betrayal, they punished him with something worse than death - they sent him to the Raiders

This isn't my post...I copied it from the Browns message board. But I thought it was interesting.

What do you think?

First off I realize that this is going to get mixed reviews and Im sure im going to be told im an idiot or whatever I dont care. I want to get off my chest why I think the NFL is fixed.

First the biggest one the New Orleans Saints. I find their miraculous turn around to be a little too conveniant. The Saints are now going to be in the NFC championship game for the first time in team history. They are also now the first team ever in the NFL to go from 3-13 to the NFC championship game in the next season. But you may say big deal this stuff happens in todays NFL. But isnt it a little conveniant that this all happens to the team that was once called the aints and went through 20 losing seasons their first season back in a city that was destroyed by a hurricane.

You may ask why. Look how the city has gotten around the team. The revenue that NFL is bringing to the city of New Orleans by the Saints being a winning team. Before Katrina the city and the people didnt even want the team there. There were strong talks about the team being moved to L.A. They couldnt even sell out the stadium the last time the team made the playoffs. They couldnt give away season tickets, when I visited I was amazed at how cheap they were. When you look at the crowd there is a significantly larger number of Bush Brees jerseys then there are Deuce and Horn Jerseys. Before this season no one cared. How is it that the "once in a lifetime talent" that is Reggie Bush falls to the Saints in the first place. I also dont buy how a 7th round draft pick can become such a primetime reciever in his rookie season. How did this guy get passed up 250 times fall to the saints and become a stud. The NFL wanted a feel good story. The Saints are now "America's Team". Everyone is happy to see the Saints succeed and overcome all that has happened to them.

Doesnt anyone else think that its a little strange that a franchise has its best season in its 40 year history the year it returns to its city after a natural disaster?

I dont think the Saints will win the Super Bowl however. I just cant see the NFL being stupid enough to make it that obvious.

This has worked in our favor as well, the year the expansion Browns made the Playoffs is the year that Al Lerner passed away. The Browns went 6-3 to squeek into the playoffs after Al died.

Same thing happened this year with the Chiefs. Lamar Hunt dies, and the Chiefs squeek into the playoffs with the Niners beating Denver.

There is also this seasons Football in general. Going into week 16, 12 out of 16 teams in the AFC had a chance at making the playoffs. The significance? If the playoffs were set by week 16 would the average fans still watch. By bringing things down to the wire it insures that the ratings are going to be up until the end of the season because it keeps the people interested.

whoever was the original poster of this A:has too much dam time on their hands and B: is full of bull shit

what about how the patriots start winning after september 11th? go on to win the superbowl. how patriotic.
You don't think they would've rather a New York team or Washington Redskins go all the way after 9-11???
