and i choose kane over rakim cuz like said kane was a complete package

but yeah, its a hard one, it can go both ways

i guess it depends on who inspired you at the end of the day

theres a good quote tho 'rakim fans are rakim fans and kane fans are kane fans, its not going to change'

Best line in that artcile:

D-Nice: Dam. I’m so biased with it because Kane is my man. I don’t know man. I’m rolling with Kane. I’m a Rakim fan but Ra’ made you think but Kane made you feel like oh sh*t did he just say that? Paid In Full was crazy, but how many songs did Ra’ rhyme on with that album [laughs]?

you know what though in rakims defense, ill say this..

even AFTER RAKIMS HEYDAY, he was able to drop a song like this.....

that shit was way after eric b and rakim days....and its still a classic..

if tupac was alive to this day hed give it up for rakim on that cuz he was ACTING ON THE MOVIE that shit was in..

kane is more like the blueprint of what a mc should be right now wheras rakims more like no one can be rakim again, ever

you are the same person who said breast implants on women remind you of transexual men.

so...yeah

i was probably looking for smarter 90s babies

you can go ahead and exclude yourself from being taught

we gon' go ahead and roll with the 90's babies who are reminded of pussy when they see fake tits

they gon soar to new hieghts

and you still gon be tryna figure shit out

ooooo....yeah...i dont think i can agree with that. However, I would love to hear why you or someoen else could feel that way. You may be able to change my mind, but Rakim = greatest ever IMO.

True.

Yeeee!

Uhhhhh...no. I know opinion are subjective...but youre just talking crazy, buddy. Spice 1 isnt even the best rapper in his town.

No.

Tupac = overrated

In closing, Big Daddy Kane > than your favorite rapper, whether you like it or not. If you aint heard "Pimpin aint easy", you are not allowed to post in this thready any longer.
tupac isnt overrated. he has freestyled better than any other rapper and he isnt my favorite. just from what he says or how he raps is proof.

aint no man readin playgirl. and worse, tupac had pictures of himself in a dress smoking a cigarette...takin picture in bubble baths, writing poetry about butterflies and shit. but i guess that had nothin to with his mc'ing, right?

not that i really place pac that high up on the list anyway.

i think there was a difference between ll cool j and kane....we cant put kane with ll cool j. i l;ooked at him doin playgirl cuz he was fuckin hoes.....not like kanye west 'imma do playgirl' type.

aint no half steppin and raw will always be one of the best songs ever to me.

i dont think i really got deep into rakim until 95-96...when reprints were easier to find....if you lived in cali you kinda went offa what was on tv....and to me growing up kanes swag>>>rakim , even tho rakim was a lyrical monster kane just seemed like the man

Wait...that song weas on Dont Sweat The Technique....the final Eric B & Rakim album. How is that way after the Eric B days?

And Rakim's heyday was still in the eraly 90's...it wasnt till he tried to come back 5 years letter with that terrible album i refuse to mention. He he kept droppin album in the early-mid 90's, he wouldnt have to have made 18th Letter.

No, its not. Tupac had one of the most ANNOYING styles EVER. Stretching out ever word at the end of your bar is retarded. How many times did he need to rhyme hennesy and memory?

18th letter i ignored that shit. that cover was so fucking horrible. i was like damn the god did himself dirty...

kane sorta knew when it was time to take a bow and be legendary..

when illmatic came out and they referred to him as 'the next rakim' and it was the first 5 mic album that kinda propelled rkaim to untouchable status

so IMO alot of rakim voters are just really biased liek they are with the biggie/tupac best ever shit

rakim just never really wanted to bow out

he was still tryin all the way to being signed with nas

the things he also talked about nat just the stuff he rhymed.
he was talking about this fucked up country and the police being bitches.
he had that i dont give a fuck attitude and came hard on the mic with energy.

did big daddy kane do that?
