When was Nate Clements defending today? I must have missed that play.
What a fuckin embarrassing performance this shit was. The team out there today was a Mike Nolan team, not a Mike Singletary team. Everything about this game was piss poor. The defense played absolutely.. scratch that, the defense didn't even play today. Patrick Willis is the only player that wasn't stinking it up the entire time. Dre Bly is a fuckin idiot and will likely be hated and grilled by Niner fans for the remainder of his stay in SF, which won't last long judging by his stupid ass comments about the play after the game. What a fag. The offense was downright awful. Shaun Hill easily had the worst game of his career. Our running game blows without Frank Gore, and it's fuckin amazing that Gore is able to do what he does behind that sorry excuse for an offensive line. Staley and Heitman are decent, everyone else on the line blows. Chilo Rachal showed promise last season, but now he's looking like a sack of shit. The playcalling was fuckin atrocious, but not like in weeks past. Oh no, this week it was FAR worse. How many times are they gonna throw a 3-yard pass on 3rd and 9+? What type of moron would even call a play like that?
Bottom line is this team was completely unprepared and that lies squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. They weren't ready for the Falcons, who are a team that is far better than any of us gave them credit for. Matt Ryan is a fuckin BEAST. That team is going to be special over the course of the next few years.
Now that I got all that out of the way, my overall experience wasn't so bad. My girl's dad knows John Taylor and he hooked us up with Eric Davis and Eric Wright, who hooked us up with the VIP treatment today. We were brought into the "Official 49ers Tailgate Party" where everything was free, including alcohol. I chopped it up with Fred Dean, Guy McIntyre, Eric Wright, Steve Bono (LOL), Tim McDonald and a gang of other ex-Niners. We had a luxury suite, but decided to sit with the 49er Alumni for the second half, so the beating wasn't taking such a big toll on my experience.
