I already told the weak ass Raider fans at my job not to hop on the bandwagon this year because the mothafucken forty-niners are back baby. All these years the true fans have put up with the losing is about to come to an end. Not saying we're going all out this year, but we are definitely back on the right path.

There are a lot of high expectations coming out of 49ers training camp this season. They made a lot of improvements on both sides of the ball in the offseason, so if they don't win 9-10 games this year (a 2-3 game improvement from last year), it will be a disappointment for me.

Being in the NFC West, winning the division isn't out of the question either.

Only time will tell, but I certainly can't wait!!

as much as i'm not a 49er fan, i do wanna see how this team does.

i don't know how alex smith's arm strength is, but i expect to see lelie and d. jack stretch the field with battle and vernon davis underneath. not to mention gore.

plus, patrick willis is another player i'm looking forward to see play. dude is a tackling machine, and a definite playmaker. i think he'd provide an immediate impact for this team.

LMAO. Tony trying to clown on the niners now that he hopped on the Raider bandwagon.
What bandwagon? I didn't know 2-14 teams have bandwagons... but anyway. I've always been trying to clown on the Niners... ever since I've joined this board. But to keep thangs on the real.. the Niners have a legit shot at winning the SuperBowl to tell you the truth. The biggest question mark is how Alex Smith and his new receivers will click? Darrell Jackson is not a deep threat... he's a west coast receiver. Alex Smith will have to get his timing down if he wants to connect with D. Jackson on the regular. The ball will have to be in the air before Jackson makes his break because that's what he's used to. The Niners swept Seattle last year so they know they can beat them... Plus they beat Denver in Denver with the playoffs on the line. As the year went on they improved. I personally think they could hang with any team in the NFC.

Unless Chicago and New Orleans lose a step, I don't think that will happen.. But even if they did get to the Bowl, I don't see any way they would beat New England.

I'm not too worried about Alex Smith connecting with D-Jack. Alex is a very smart player and learns things quickly.. I think he will get the timing routes down with Jackson in no time.

This is what I like to see..

LOL.

Nah but as long as everyone falls into their role and performs the way they should, I think they can hang with anyone in the NFC as well. I'm not saying they would go out and beat all the other NFC teams, but they would at least have a fair chance at coming away with a win.

Running game and defense... The running game is alreayd there... and with all the free agent pickups on defense plus animal Willis y'all should be much better.

I thought they were going to be booty last season but they surprised me... especially Alex Smith. The niner offensive line is strong so that right there should give them a shot at beating anyone...

They have to get Vernon Davis involved more in the offense though. I think he'll be the main key to the Niners success on offense. We all know that teams will bring that eigth man down in the box to help stop the run so it's going to be up the Niners to exploit the match ups Vernon Davis will get.

Vernon was involved in just about every other offense play until he got injured. He's gonna be Smith's first option during the passing game.

That's exactly what our new OC plans to do. Hostler's gonna incorporate Norv Turner's system with a bit of West Coast offense and a large emphasis on Vernon Davis because he creates so many mismatches. From what I've read, it looks like Hostler will be a pretty good OC.. he already has a good relationship with Alex Smith since he's been Alex's only pro QB coach until this year.

Sucks for other teams because even when they bring eight men they still get ran over by Gore. If they bring any less they risk getting destroyed by Gore, and when they decide to bring that eighth man they risk getting burned by Vernon Davis. Not to mention the decoy receiver we have (Lelie) who will stretch the field and accidentally catch a few long bombs.. Gotta love it.

I think the X factor of the offense will be Battle. All the attention is gonna be on the 2 new receivers, and Davis & Gore.

Battle has shown some skill, too bad he gets hurt like every other snap. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
