I don't mind a fighter getting KO'd; it happens to some of the best. Especially if it's a fighter leaving everything in the ring, I respect that.

Unless you're Nate Campbell. I lost tons of respect for that asshole, and I like to laugh at him. A lot.

Definitely no respect loss for taking an "L" or even getting KO'd. I actually think you don't really get to see a fighter's true character until after a devestating loss.

a better question is if you still respect a fighter if they quit or give the fight away.

What about Peterson on Saturday? He intentionally low blowed his way out of the fight purposely getting himself DQ'd because he was getting beat up. Thoughts on that fight or losing in that type of manner?

Or what about Oscar quitting on the stool to Pacquiao?

haha, for sure. There are ok times to quit though imo, like when Cotto took a knee against Margarito. Oscar went out like a pussy!

I guess with MMA it's a lot different, you gotta tap out or you'll break something. But I'm sure there are some examples of people quitting in poor taste or giving a fight away maybe someone can think of an example...

Overeem, Cro Cop, Sokoudjou, Gonzaga and BJ Penn all quit when the fight isn't going their way, off the top of my head. Always makes them frustrating as hell to watch when you have that much talent and no heart.

^^yea was gonna say the same shit bout penn, even tho one of my favorite fighters of all time I lost a lil respect for him when he did that, but he was real fuccin exhausted, he couldn't even stand...another recent dude comes into mind and that is jamie yager, dude from the last tuf, he had everything 2 gain from being on that show and bitched out and fuccin quit, n still got a shot on tuf finale and still got mopped

Victor Ortiz vs. Marcos Maidana?

I was big on Victor until then...I still like and support him, but it's a different feeling now.

I WATCHED CHUCC LIDDELL GET KNOCCED OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND LAST NIGHT ON UFC'S ULTIMATE KNOCCOUTS...I WAS JUST WONDERING DO U LOSE RESPECT 4 YOUR FAVORITE FIGHTER WHEN U SEE SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPEN OR DO U JUST LOOK AT IT LIKE HE HAD A BAD NIGHT???
CHUCK'S BEEN KO'D A FEW TIMES HASN'T HE? (RAMPAGE, RASHAD, FRANKLIN, SHOGUN RUA) DO I LOSE RESPECT FOR HIM (CHUCK) AFTER THAT? NO. SOME FIGHTS YOU WIN, OTHERS YOU LOSE. SOONER OR LATER, SOMEONE WILL GET THE BEST OF YOU. I GOT MORE RESPECT FOR SOMEONE THAT GOES DOWN SWINGIN' AS OPPOSED TO SOMEBODY JUST STANDIN' THERE GETTIN' LIT UP. NOW, IF BOTH DUDES ARE TRADIN' PUNCHES, THATS A DIFFERENT STORY. SHIT, THE MAN BUSTED HIS ASS AND PAID HIS DUES AND IS A UFC HALL OF FAMER. SHIT, I GIVE HIM PROPS FOR THAT ALONE.
