More on Freddy Sanchez
My friend Ken Rosenthal at Foxsports.com reported that Giants medical personnel examined Freddy Sanchez's injured knee last night.
That dovetails with something I just heard: that last night the Giants and Pirates had the pieces in place for a deal, but the Giants wanted to hold off over concerns about the knee.
The injury is not supposed to be serious, but any team making a trade would be wise to be darn sure the player is healthy.
I should say that even if no trade were in the works, and a visiting player got hurt, chances are he would see the home team's doctors.
I'm hearing conflicting information on whether the Giants would get Sanchez for prospects only (and they would be higher-level prospects than Scott Barnes) or prospects plus a player on the 25-man roster.
