Soccor like most sports is a cultural thing, something you gotta grow up watching to enjoy. I went to a Seattle game a year ago final score was 0 to fucking 0. I was so fucking bored out of mind. Never again.

But I'm sure if I grew up in Spain or some shit that game would have been like watching The Thrilla in Manila lol
It is a tribal thing too, nation v nation. Lower level is club v club, it can be a hotbed for nationalism and racism, but at the end of the day it's our nature to war.

When you grow up in america I guess it's harder to understand and get into, you guys will never accept draws (ties). It's not part of American culture, there must be a winner and there must be scoring.

Specifically for me, my ties go back into Yugoslav football, we hate the Croatians by nature so our club and national teams are fierce rivals.

Australia not so much there is no rivalry, but the national team is supported well in big games, even though the majority hate soccer here, they love Australia and will support them.

If we don't win this year, then we have to get rid of the coach. The talent we have is amazing. Never had so many good German players! We should win the next 2 WCs and ECs! Wish we had Klopp as National Coach though!

With the exception of those who grew up playing the game. I personally can take a lil nap during watching matches, wake up and still have plenty of game left to watch I loved playing the game and watching the kids play, but I always enjoy following the World Cup and always will.

It does not bid well for US, I do not see them beating Portugal or Germany and Ghana is always a losable game for US. Of course I want US to do well, but I just enjoy watching well played matches regardless of the team.

I think Ghana is a big game and there is a rivalry there for you guys. You can beat them and get a possible draw from the Portugal game if you can shut down Moutinho and Ronaldo. Pepe will lead the defence and it will be a massive massive game for you guys. I just don't see it but you guys need a lot of heart and teamwork if you are to get out of that group.

Greece won the Euro playing defensive football and a solid counter attacking game, so with the right coach, you guys always have a chance. Klinsmaan knows his shit it's just a matter of no defensive lapses for 90 mins.

Australia goes into this wc being the lowest ranked team, but I know the boys will fire up when they play spain and holland. We both need miracles, but at the end of the day the best TEAM wins.

In Germany most teams have a history of 100+ years. Add a rivalry to different cities, towns, states,...

Dusseldorf and Cologne are next to each other, but they hate each other. In Dusseldorf they drink dark beer, in Cologne, they drink special cologne beer, you cannot get the beer brewed a couple kilometers further in a bar in the other city. Impossible.

Watching football just to watch it is boring most of the time. You have to have a favorite team that you support. It is part of you. Part of your life. You'd die for your team.

In America we are "world champs" even though no other country plays our sports lol. We're isolated, arrogant assholes like that haha. Our only rival died in 1991 (USSR).

Soccor isgetting more popular though. In Seattle somehow the city goes crazy for the Sounders

Mls is picking up slowly here, what you guys need is the national team to keep getting better, that will attract more fans.

if you play yourself, you'd enjoy it more. think about it, we grew up playing basketball and football here in the US but soccer not so much past a certain age. for whatever reason mostly kids play soccer here until like age 8 or whatever then completely stop.

i can see why people think its boring as fuck. i think what soccer enthusiats love about soccer is the build up play, the touches (bringing down a long ball, controlling a difficult pass in a small space), flicks and visionary passes, the tricks, counter attacks...again, all things you have an appreciation for if you actually play. and its difficult as shit.

i personally love soccer (arsenal is my squad), i still play recreationally as well. and go Iran WC 2014
