Thank the umpire for calling that bullshit strikeout on Lowrie when he should have walked and been on base in front of Reddick and Sogard, without that the game wouldn't have even gone into extras.

There were a bunch of misses all game here and there. It just complied for me with Rodney. 4 walks is retarded and Lloyd just let it happen.

Moss' first home run since July, he has a three game hitting streak and he made pretty decent contact even when he hit into outs... First time in a long time that he didn't look completely lost up there. If he's back on track and Doolittle is in good shape they might be able to stay in the wildcard chase.

Catching is an issue moving forward, Jaso probably won't be back this season and if Vogt comes back he's probably going to be limited to 1B/DH. I'm pretty sure Norris isn't 100%, Soto is day to day after tweaking his back the other day, and the last backup catcher is Bryan Anderson who has only had about 70 major league at bats in his 8 year career, unless Donaldson wants to get back behind the plate.

Payroll stats are so pointless when talking about records. A's fans always fall back on that fact that their organization penny pinches and they call it "money ball". It;s ridiculous. MLB is a business. The whole point of winning a title is to sell more tickets and merchandise. In turn bringing more tourism to your city, collecting taxes, and making it a better city.

Winning titles and not putting it back into your teams just shows greed on your owners behalf. That plus the team being located in a city that doesn't care to put any entertainment expense towards its local team.

The net worth of the Angel's organization is worth several times what the Athletics are worth if either were to ever go up for bid.

So if you are going to talk about finances, then stick to finances. The whole concept is to win titles and build bigger and stronger teams. Look at the Yankees. Where are the A's putting their money? Obviously not back into their team.

Anyways, enjoy chasing the wild card.

If the A's some how get into the playoffs they do have good starting pitching. They could still do well as crazy as that sounds. Seems like nerves bother hitters in the playoffs so much more and pitching usually dominates. I dont consider the wild card game making the playoffs and i could care less who does. The best point made about the A's was when they became the favorites they started playing like shit which was really at the Allstar break. Espn and others started making a big deal about the A's. There much better when there the underdogs.

Also call it whatever you want, we hate our Jew owner but Beane has put together a bunch of playoff teams with no payroll basically. That is impressive no matter what you say about it. Theres 162 games, shitty teams cant win consistently usually to make the playoffs yet the A's have made the playoffs 8 of the last 15 years and maybe 9 this year.

12 k's for sonny and we cant even score a run.

first 8 batters got first pitch fastballs and every one of them took it. It was the theme of the night. batting averages go waaaaay down when the pitcher gets a first pitch strike

These dudes need to not take the fuckin first pitch. especially when the starter throws fastball curveball and change up, and didnt throw a pitch above 89.

emergency starter gets the shutout and the win?
