@ 20- oooooooh the spirals YEAH THAT WAS THE DEEPEST PART. that's what really made me want to buy the movie.

everything in the universe works in a pulse or cycle. the chaotic part is the abberations that we are aware of which are comprised of intersecting or colliding cycles.

I dug the fuck outta that part.

He NEVER found it though did he?!! don't sit there and dance around it. YOU KNOW how much this means to the Atheist faith if you say, yeah he never found it. Cause if he DID, the movie would of said it. Since it failed to, you are basing your premise on assumptions. YOU know and the rest of the scientific community does not accept that. Right?

I think you are confused on something...IT WAS A MOVIE!!! Of course "the number" was never mentioned in real life.

Something interesting about Pi....

"Pi is both the sixteenth letter of the Greek alphabet and the symbol which represents the world's oldest mathematical mystery: the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

The earliest known written record of the ratio comes from 1650 BCE Egypt, where a scribe calculated the value to be 3.16 (a mere 1% off the true value). Although now, we have methods to calculate the digits of pi (3.1415...) its exact value remains a mystery.

Since 1794, when it was proven that Pi was both irrational and infinite, people have been searching for a pattern in the endless string of numbers.

As it turns out, Pi can be found everywhere, from astronomy to probability to the physics of sound and light. If you prefer to calculate Pi the old fashioned way, you're not alone. Hundreds of clubs have been formed to celebrate and calculate the ratio, many of which require a good deal of sequence memorization in order to join. The current world record for pi memorization was made in 1995, when a Japanese man recited 42,000 digits from memory in just over nine hours. "

Yeah, Mathmatics, or numbers is the language of nature, however it is words that animate and define nature. Without words or history, humans would cease existence.

Culture is shaped by words(language) not numbers.

Maybe the character in the movie found the "secret". However my entire point is that there is NO secret or way to manipulate the New York Stock Exchange. What I am trying to get at is there is science is limited in a lot of aspects. IE the New York Stock Exchange. Make sense?

So this goes to show that the Scientific faith is limited. Only the past can be messured not the future. The future can only be assumed.

You’re still missing the point. THE MOVIE IS BASED UPON A MANS THEORY THAT EVERYTHING CAN BE PREDICTED WITH MATHEMATICS. I never claimed I or anybody else for that matter believes this. But I will say that I do believe mathematics has done more for mankind then ALL religions combined.

I don’t understand how you can say "Scientific faith is limited." Science is growing by the minute. New answers are being discovered daily. I don’t think you have much faith in human intelligence and what lies a head for the race. Humans are very young. We have only begun to penetrate knowledge.

I'm not hiding any facts. ONCE AGAIN THE MOVIE WAS BASED UPON A THEORY THAT MATHEMATICS CAN PREDICT ANYTHING IN LIFE.

THIS THEORY HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN YET, THEREFOR, 9/11 COULD NOT HAVE BEEN PREDICTED BY MATHEMATICS.

Watch the movie again. There is a reason why the movie is called Pi. The number Pi is supposedly an infinite number with no patterns or traces of any patterns. The movie is called Pi because the theory is, if humans can brake Pi, then they will have the answers to everything in life. Hence the quote by the ancient Egyptian, "[Pi is] The Entrance into the Knowledge of All Existing Things"
