that was a tight movie. I'ma buy it. it falls in line with fight club and the rest of my peculiar taste in cinema.

It also gave a strange insight into why the sephir yetzirah is important. now I wish I didn't get rid of all my books on jewish mysticism.

a very deep movie indeed. it was alot said in the movie for so little said.

However did you notice in the movie how he NEVER was able to find the formula or "secret", to predict the New York stock market.

Why? Because the stock market is based around emotion, human emotion.

Human emotion as a collective whole, cannot be predicted, calculated or mesured.

Pi is a quality movie though. I haven't seen it in a long time. I still remember and know that much.

I used to have a cat named Pi too.

@loca - actually it was, BUT it didn't go into any specifics. People like me would watch a movie lecturing about the specifics of pi but many wouldn't.

the average person falls asleep on the movie as is. I could jest imagine if it was more specific.

@basicc - the movie actually did find the number but it would be infeasible for it to actually give it. remember its a movie. even if it did give "a" number it most likey wouldn't be "the" number. anybody that actually did know would never tell it if they were in their right mind. but I digress :)

I'm glad you liked the movie, I knew you would.

What did you think of the spirals? This is a quote from a website.
The Golden Spiral is a mystical shape that is an absolute in both abstract mathematics and chaotic nature. It was first discovered by Phythagoras, a failed Greek messiah and mathematical cult leader in the 5th century B.C.

The spiral is derived via the golden rectangle, a unique rectangle which has the golden ratio. When squared, it leaves a smaller rectangle behind, which has the same golden ratio as the previous rectangle. The squaring can continue indefinitely with the same result. No other rectangle has this trait.

When you connect a curve through the corners of these concentric rectangles, you have formed the golden spiral. The Phythagoreans loved this shape for they found it everywhere in nature: the Nautilus Shell, Ram's horns, milk in coffee, the face of a Sunflower, your fingerprints, our DNA, and the shape of the Milky Way. "

@Basically, of course they didnt give the "secret"
Remember it is a movie based on theories that have not yet been proven. "Human emotion as a collective whole, cannot be predicted, calculated or mesured. "
Well, that is the point. The point of the movie is that everything can be predicted. Study Chaos Theory.

never saw requiem for a dream...is that really wat its about?
Don’t listen to anything raginhomosexual says. If it was about white hippies then why is Marlon Wayons in it? Requiem for a dream is a good movie. And yes it is about drugs. Excellent direction, excellent acting and excellent story.

I doubt the movie ever found the answer. I don't know where you get that notion. Do you have proof of this? or are you just assuming?
