i remember a friend of mine got mugged and was sent to the hospital with a fractured skull. when i told another friend what happened, he asked me, "what did he do". I said "what did he do? nothing, he was just minding his own business walking to his car" he said "well he shouldn't have been walking alone at night"

it's like people can't acknowledge the idea that bad stuff can happen to you for no reason. that reality is too much for them. so they rather think it's something the victim did that caused it.

nice post. you broke down some shit i didnt really know how to explain.

my mom did the same thing i told her my friend was in the icu and she just shook her head and said 'hes too young for that..its probably drugs'

and she is in the medical field so she does have the right to make educated guesses, but its always...i dunno...slightly disrespectful to the reality?

it could be true but if it wasnt true, i think the person siding is just making shit worse.

its ALWAYS better to be on the positive side of things. atleast when your wrong, you dont feel like a asshole.

Humans have a natural tendency to attempt to explain the unknown in a way they can understand (see aliens, religion, etc)

Jumping to a conclusion on either side of the argument is evidence of that

People who immediately assume that because of the unusual nature of the situation the accused must be guilty and that victim played no part are potentially avoiding the reality of the situation (which is that no one knows) just much as people who can't acknowledge the idea that bad stuff can happen to you for no reason.

The reality is we don't know. Saying the accused are guilty or the victim was at fault is avoiding acknowledging that we can't explain what happened and it's in our nature to explain the unexplained rather than accept that which it is, unknown.

and with that said
some people ignore the signs

because their friends and cannot see from the outside WO involving their feelings in the issue

its like when someone molests a child and theres 50 people outside with signs saying he would never do anything like that, i know him! hes my neighbor, hes my best friend, hes my associate for 30 years, etc etc

sometimes you do gotta take a step back and think maybe that might be true! but dont let it fog your vision.

i think when you start beliving in what someone says negative or positive WO proof, thats when issues come in

Hense this thing we call "reading." lol :)

She didn't get what was coming to her. She got what those worthless fags dealt to her.

If she was the type of bitch who had cried rape and lied BEFORE, and then she did get raped this time, I'd probably laugh and say, "you got what you deserved for crying wolf."

But from what I have read, it seems clear she was coaxed into most or all of it. And she didn't deserve to be raped or beaten.
That's the thing...

If she had done it before...there must have been a first time. So what if THIS was the first time.

Do they have some kind of a kit that shows exactly how many penis' were inside her vagina? The numbers are based on what? Intoxicated teenagers. I doubt they were keeping track on a notepad of everyone who was in contact with her.

Like I said before, I do not condone rape, and after reading the initial report, I strongly felt she was probably raped. But I wasn't there, so I don't know the truth.

"Semi-conscious"...were there any type of tests (cat scans, etc) that showed any kind of a head trauma, or was she in shock? She could have been DRUNK.

I don't know this whole story, and we may never know it...unless a video (cell phone) comes out, which could possibly happen. But seriously...10 or 20 or 30 people...the numbers are often exaggerated. Even if it was only 1 person RAPING a 15 year old girl, that's wrong, of course. But this could have been consensual, and she was afraid of being portrayed as a slut, or she could have changed her mind 16 guys in, and the 17th beat her ass...

Sorry about that last line... :hurt:

But seriously, detectives...let the facts come out before we crown Mother Theresa or the innocent choir boys.

Rape frenzy

On the night of the attack, the victim left the homecoming dance at about 9:30 p.m., before it ended, and walked to the back of campus to call her father to pick her up, detectives say.

That's when someone invited her into the notorious courtyard.

The group of about a dozen boys and young men was already well into 2 gallons of vodka. After they liquored up the girl with brandy, they proposed sex, according to several accounts by friends of those who were there but asked not to be named for fear of retaliation.

The girl said no. Some of the men placed her on one of the two red cement benches set alongside the main brick building of the school and said they were going to have sex anyway, according to the accounts.

"They had her down on the bench and the bitch tried to kick 'Tweak' (one of the men) in the nuts," said one young man, who said he had a first-hand account of the attack from Smith but was afraid of being named. "He went off on her, started hitting her, and then it was on. They pulled a train (a gang initiation-style rape, one after the other) on her."

What ensued was 2 1/2 hours of beatings and raping, at times with a foreign object. The scene attracted onlookers, some calling others over by cell phone, and eventually there were as many as 10 men or boys sexually assaulting the girl while another 20 looked on, laughing and snapping pictures. Teachers and students were searching last week for at least one video that many said was filmed of the attack.

The rape finally stopped, around midnight, after students at a house down the block heard of what was going on and called police. The girl was found, semiconscious, beneath a picnic table.

"Her face was purple and blue and she wasn't moving when they finished and ran," said Eraclio Lopez, 23, who lives nearby and ran over when the police cars rolled up. "I guess those kids thought what they did was tight, was cool. But it was terrible."

The girl was released from a hospital Wednesday, but her recovery has only begun, police Lt. Mark Gagan said
