A lot of music videos are a combination of 1080p and 720p. With the camera you mentioned you HAVE to record in 720p to do any sort of slo mo shots. Here is a video I did with a a dslr that was shot in both 1080p and 720p and rendered down to 720p for youtube/vimeo. I think it still looks really good.
