i feel lock about folx from the yay needing to come original.. ive been saying for a while that hyphy was just an easy ticket to better sales regardless of the quality of the artist..

but the folx in NY prolly think the same about hyphy that we think about there chicken noodle soup square dance..

So my issue with that is WHO GIVES A FUCK what they think!
As I remember back in 97 when the whole No Limit/Cash Money & general southern explosion took off, mf's in NY were pretty much clownin for the same reasons. Sayin it was all flash and no substance. No lyrical ability. But we see that those mf's didnt switch their shit up to conform to what New York likes or thinks and now the south has greater pull that NY has had in damn near a decade! So why should we (the bay area) give a fuck what people in New York think? DO we have to conform to their standards to make it big or do we say fuck and ride with whats our trademark and see if it takes us to the top in its pure form.
first off, i dont know lock personally, but i know that hes educated dude thats a grad from UC Berkeley. 2nd, he done tore the house down at the MTV rap battles show and got PLAYED!

i wouldnt go as far as youu were saying how hes a NY dickryder. i didnt hear the full interview but i remember he was telling von how some dude told lock to check out his flow. the dude started spitting some ol "i go dumb this dumb that" flow... lock then stated that if he wanted to live a dumb lifestyle then thats him. now, lock is a college graduate whos lyrics are lightyears ahead a good portion of rappers now a days. so for him to hate on people who consider a rap verse such as the one i stated above, i could understand that.
