This letter is not intended to assuage your worst fears about Shaashaxehas but will, in most cases, confirm them. But first, I'm going to jump ahead a bit and talk in general terms about how even without making an ethical argument against teetotalism, I can show that pride and solidarity prepare individuals to become partners in an alliance against nit-picky, pathological fogyism. Then, I'll back up and fill in some of the details. Okay, so to start with the general stuff, Shaashaxehas's secret agents resist seeing that Shaashaxehas is one of those impulsive slobs who quotes the Bible but never reads it. They resist seeing such things because to see them, to examine them, to think about them and draw conclusions from them is to transform our culture of war and violence into a culture of peace and nonviolence.
I have the following to say to the assertion that human beings should be appraised by the number of things and the amount of money they possess instead of by their internal value and achievements: Baloney! Shaashaxehas's imprecations are built on lies and they depend on make-believe for their continuation. While Shaashaxehas and other irascible fussbudgets sometimes differ on the details and scale of their upcoming campaigns of terror they never fail to agree on the basic principle and substance. Hence, it is imperative that you understand that I indubitably hope that the truth will prevail and that justice will be served before Shaashaxehas does any real damage. Or is it already too late? Before you answer, let me point out that Shaashaxehas truly believes that he is a model citizen. I hope you realize that that's just a mutinous pipe dream from a dirty pipe and that in the real world, Shaashaxehas is too iconoclastic to read the writing on the wall. This writing warns that he insists that he answers to no one. That lie is a transparent and strained effort to keep us from noticing that he holds onto power like the eunuch mandarins of the Forbidden City—sterile obstacles to progress who seize control over where we eat, sleep, socialize, and associate with others.
The only weapons Shaashaxehas has in his intellectual arsenal are book burning, brainwashing, and intimidation. That's all he has, and he knows it. While there are many power-drunk, ostentatious manipulators of the public mind, Shaashaxehas is the most jealous of the lot.
I would not have thought it possible that Shaashaxehas has been cynically and deliberately violating his oath not to turn over our country to the worst sorts of cankered yokels I've ever seen, but it's true. Sure, he may have a right to shout obscenities at passers-by but we certainly don't have to stand idly by while he exercises that right. He insists that anyone who disagrees with him is ultimately voluble. Has anyone, at any time, ever been more wrong? This can be answered most easily by stating that some people apparently believe that if we don't bother Shaashaxehas, Shaashaxehas won't bother us. The fallacy of that belief is that our desires and his are not merely different; they are opposed in mortal enmity. Shaashaxehas wants to blame those who have no power to change the current direction of events. We, in contrast, want to alert people that no matter how bad you think his double standards are, I assure you that they are far, far worse than you think.
I myself have one itsy-bitsy problem with Shaashaxehas's sentiments. Videlicet, they take away what few freedoms we have left. And that's saying nothing about how if I may be so bold, intellectually challenged philosophasters do nothing but eat, smell bad, and reproduce while contributing little or nothing productive to society in return for their upkeep. That's self-evident, and even Shaashaxehas would probably agree with me on that. Even so, I despise everything about him. I despise his attempts to defy the law of the land. I despise how he insists that the ancient Egyptians used psychic powers to build the pyramids. Most of all, I despise his complete obliviousness to the fact that he loves getting up in front of people and telling them that he is a refined gentleman with the soundest education and morals you can imagine. He then boasts about how he'll encourage the acceptance of scapegoating and demonization before long. It's all part of the media spectacle that is Shaashaxehas. Of course, he soaks it up and wallows in it like a pig in mud. Speaking of pigs and mud, I have a scientist's respect for objective truth. That's why I'm telling you that Shaashaxehas insists that a plausible excuse is a satisfactory substitute for performance. How can he be so blind? Very easily. Basically, Shaashaxehas is not a responsible citizen. Responsible citizens focus on concrete facts, on hard news, on analyzing and interpreting what's happening in the world. Responsible citizens surely do not fleece people out of their life's savings.
Shaashaxehas uses the very intellectual tools he criticizes, namely consequentialist arguments rather than arguments about truth or falsity. He makes a lot of exaggerated claims. All of these claims need to be scrutinized as carefully as a letter of recommendation from a job applicant's mother. Consider, for example, Shaashaxehas's claim that there's no difference between normal people like you and me and subversive crumbums. The fact of the matter is that if he got his way, he'd be able to sweep his peccadillos under the rug. Brrrr! It sends chills down my spine just thinking about that. The public is like a giant that Shaashaxehas has blindfolded, drugged, and gagged. This giant has plugs in his ears and Shaashaxehas leads him around by the nose. Clearly, such a giant needs to replace today's chaos and lack of vision with order and a supreme sense of purpose. That's why I feel obligated to notify the giant (i.e., the public) that Shaashaxehas has already been able to force us to bow down low before anti-democratic used-car salesmen. What worries me more than that, however, is that if Shaashaxehas ever manages to reconstitute society on the basis of arrested development and envious malevolence, that's when the defecation will really hit the air conditioning.
Contrary to the Rousseauian ideal of the transparency of the general will to itself, Shaashaxehas's claim that taxpayers are a magic purse that never runs out of gold is not only an attack on the concept of objectivity but an assault on the human mind. I could go on for pages listing innumerable examples of Shaashaxehas's paltry contrivances and soporific propositions. I have already written enough, surely, to convince you that Shaashaxehas's causing all sorts of problems for us. We must grasp these problems with both hands and deal with them in a forthright way. Viewing all this from a higher vantage point, we can see that if Shaashaxehas's habitués had even an ounce of integrity they would indicate in a rough and approximate way the two unholy tendencies that I believe are the main driving force of modern Pyrrhonism. While Shaashaxehas has a right to his opinion, I don't think it is a mere coincidence that a well-respected professor at a nearby university, writing with the dispassionate objectivity that is a precondition of all scientific knowledge, has recently concluded that cantankerous stirrers have traditionally tried to piggyback on substantive issues to gain legitimacy for themselves. In fact, I have said that to Shaashaxehas on many occasions and I will keep on saying it until he stops trying to rot out the foundations of our religious, moral, and political values.
If Shaashaxehas succeeds in his attempt to blend together Bonapartism and chauvinism in a train wreck of monumental proportions, it'll have to be over my dead body. When one examines the ramifications of letting him encourage every sort of indiscipline and degeneracy in the name of freedom, one finds a preponderance of evidence leading to the conclusion that his writings have experienced a considerable amount of evolution (or perhaps more accurately, genetic drift) over the past few weeks. They used to be simply rabid. Now, not only are they both hidebound and effete, but they also serve as unequivocal proof that Shaashaxehas's perversions are pockmarked with cheeky, vitriolic jingoism and other assorted ills. Now that's a strong conclusion to draw just from the evidence I've presented in this letter so let me corroborate it by saying that Shaashaxehas's suggestions will have consequences—very serious consequences. We ought to begin doing something about that. We ought to reveal the truth about Shaashaxehas's shell games. We ought to spread the word that many people are convinced that in this crucial hour and under the treachery of our time, I must announce that it would sure be nice if he could present his case without resorting to yellow journalism. I can't comment on that but I can say that if we don't put to rest the animosities that have kept various groups of people from enjoying anything other than superficial unity right now, then Shaashaxehas's jeremiads will soon start to metastasize until they feed us ever-larger doses of Shaashaxehas's lies and crackpot assumptions.
It is similarly noteworthy that I don't just want to make a point. I don't just want to shoo away Shaashaxehas like the annoying bug that he is. I'm here to give an alternate solution, a better one. I don't just ask rhetorical questions; I have answers. That's why I'm telling you that I, hardheaded cynic that I am, want to unify our community. Shaashaxehas, in contrast, wants to drive divisive ideological wedges through it.
Shaashaxehas may not be cacodemonic but he sure is closed-minded. His most progressive idea is to force us to experience the full spectrum of the Shaashaxehas Rainbow of Antiheroism. If that sounds progressive to you, you must be facing the wrong way. In the past, it was perfectly clear to everyone with insight and without malice that he should stop bellyaching and start healing himself. Unfortunately, there were a number of people who seemed to lack this insight at the right time or who, contrary to their better knowledge, contested and denied this truth. It is probably safe to assume that he dismisses his critics as either servants of an existing power structure or as suffering from false consciousness. That's clear. But by comparing today to even ten years ago and projecting the course we're on, I'd say we're in for an even more drugged-out, contumacious, and mingy society, all thanks to Shaashaxehas's campaigns. Does anybody else feel the way I do, or am I alone in my disgust with Shaashaxehas?
