I don't think EPs ever really left, at least not in the "underground" world. I doubt Britney Spears ever released an EP, but take any band with little exposure and they've probably released a few EPs.

Yeah, Slayer's kinda hit and miss with me. And Master of Puppets is my favorite album of all time. The most pure thrash album IMO is Kill Em All, so you should check that out. Metallica's first 4 albums are all great thrash albums. Other bands/albums I'd recommend: Overkill - Horrorscope...

Satanic lyrics is kind of a rarity in thrash. Usually lyrics deal with war, violence, and politics. And partying. Somehow, that fits with the rest.

Will do. Magic Lantern sounds familiar but I don't know if I've heard them. The 2 minutes I've been listening to them have been pretty good though so far.
