That's so lame everything went digital download then all the sudden theres data caps lol
What a scam. I use like 100 gigs a month, almost all of it on twitch.tv but barely been using the internet. My dumbass brother from another mother probably uses like 700 gigs just letting his computer run netflix and podcasts 24/7 as background noise; and watches porn all the damn time every single day. One month it went to over a TB and I got a letter saying it was $10 extra for overage then they refunded me $10 and said I had two more "grace months" left or something where it could be waived. It was fucking stupid because the bill somehow was $10 cheaper than normal that month then the next month it was $10 more expensive and said I had an outstanding balance
ISP's lost so many cable packages by people ditching them for Netflix and Hulu they decided to fuck over the same people by saying "either give us that $50 extra you got rid of in cable package or we'll get that money with overage charges, you thought you were smart getting rid of cable? Fuck you".
It's hot garbage, I used to have unlimited internet, then one day they were like "hey dickhead, we're giving you a data cap now, after that it's $10 every 50GB....oh you still want that unlimited you used to have? Fuck off idiot give us an extra $50".
I had to pay the extra $50 cause there's 4 people in my house with no cable, so they stay on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and YouTube all day every day. We were hitting that cap like a week short every month and paying an extra $50 anyway.
It's bullshit because ISP's have a monopoly in most cities, so people can't even tell them to fuck off and get internet somewhere else. I'm stuck with Cox Cable no matter what. Some parts of Phoenix have CenturyLink DSL, but their data caps are even worse than Cox, but my shitty neighborhood don't even have the CenturyLink option.
