Mexican food in Denver is pretty weak id say,I haven't been all over admittedly, but a lot of the popular places are trash to me. There's some good pastor tacos though, papusas are poppin and green chili is a big Denver favorite.

I don't really have an explanation as to why, but pho in Denver is the best.

I have a brother who's been around the world and says pho is best in Denver. There's a pho restaurant everywhere here, but 95 is the best one unit

We got the bomb breakfast restaurant called snooze. Place is always packed. Pineapple upside down pancakes.

I miss dago the Mexican food in the bay just is nothing like the town.. I had to change my whole diet around. I still eat Mexican but it's nothing like how it used to be.

I eat a lot more Japanese and Thai food up here but I wouldn't believe that's what's popping per se. The bay is pretty open when it comes to food. Lots more shit to pick from then SD but I'd trade my Mexican food in SD for it all.
Best Mexican food out here is in Fruitvale, still different from SD/LA though.

I'll have to give it a try. It's real hard to find, but every once in a while you can find a spot comparable to San Diego in either San Fran or Oakland. It'll take some searching, but it's possible. I found a spot out in mission out in SF while I had probation work in precita eyes (a community mural/art spot in San Francisco, had to teach kids art as part of my probation)

You'd think that it wouldn't be so segregated as far as tastes. But you can't even get that San Diego style Mexican food in LA! Shit is crazy. My cousin used to bring a cooler to bring back rolled tacos from SD.

If anyone's is ever in SD and I'm out in town, let me know your from siccness and I'll take you on a Mexican food tour guide you'll never forget.

pS no better fish or shrimp tacos then off of palm avenue (the palm avenue exit next to the 905 freeway btw) right next to the McDonald's. I'll put serious money on it. San Diego reader agreed for years.

Edit: and since my "culture" is creole, I'm always looking for gumbo that's authentic but most ppl suck. Have never found anything that has matched my grandmas gumbo. Last place I really could fuck with was either jj's chicken and fish in Vallejo or nola po boy New Orleans cuisine in concord. And besides gumbo I love me some shrimp po boys.

Anyone else like creole cuisine? Jambalaya, gumbo, pi boys? To name the obvious creole foods. I gotta eat me red beans and rice bro or I'll die. Shit is srs

Alberto's. El Forastero. Adalberto's. those got some SD style items. they got those just outside the east bay so i would assume there has to be some in the east bay. probably more of the Oakland area tho if anything.
