The problem I see is I think that RW can be a good pocket passer, but only when he is mobile as well.
Last year he led the league in pocket passing. I think this year it's a combination of playing hurt since week 1 (let's not forget he's playing with two injuries on both legs, that is very significant) and the oline being worse than ever. I think Locket being injured is also a factor, probably a minor one but it's still an issue and it seems Doug Baldwin is getting all the attention from defenses - teams put their best guy on him and/or double team him.

Going cheap on the online is fine when Russell is mobile but taking that away from his game while the o line is this bad with no running game is a disaster.

What Mr. Nice Guy makes sense in that there is no real threat of him running right now, so teams are just teeing off at the line. Russ knows he aint going no where either, so way more internal pressure in trying to be a pocket passer.

The OL was mediocre last year...but it least we had some guys that had experience/we actually lightweight good. The line this year? Completely different minus Gilliam. And i think there are 2 rookies on the OL? Only bright spot so far has been Ifedi flashing and Britt being a rock solid C.

But that's kind of my point. Last year he led the league in pocket passing, and last year he rushed for 500+ yards.

This year now that he is immobile he is not as good of a pocket passer. I think there is a causal relationship between his ability to run and his ability to be a pocket passer even though it would seem illogical for those things to be related to one another.

Well if you look at that 7 game stretch last year where Wilson/Baldwin were putting up record numbers Wilson really wasn't rushing much, he was doing the vast majority of his work from the pocket. Of course he would still have that escapiblity during games from time to time and extend plays, and that's the biggest difference right now is he can't extend plays, it's not even about rushing yards or being a rushing threat, he simply cannot rollout do a spin move and find a receiver when plan a doesn't work and the pocket collapses. And as of right now, the pocket is collapsing every play. He's got about a three step drop if he's lucky to get rid of the ball.

Thats the point we are driving home. His threat to run makes him a better passer, because defenses need to respect that. No respect for a hobbled Russ. Until he gets healthy, expect teams to just keep blitzing.

Russell Wilson has a baby on the way with Ciara
I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but let me guess, Russell will name his child a biblical name - John, Paul, Abraham, Adam, Luke, Peter, Elijah, etc.

Ciara will want some urban sounding name so she'll get to choose the middle. Noah Da'sharious Wilson

Another injury for Russ. This time pectoral muscle. So both legs injured effecting his ability to run and now an injury affecting his throwing ability. I don't give a shit how bad Saints defense is this is a big problem. They need to run, so makes sense they brought in the FB and let go the 3rd down back.
