Mariners have to win all of these last games vs the Athletics, or theres zero chance of making the wild card. And becuase detroit got some bullshit fucking game given to them for free (they called the game over after the 5th from rain delay, PLUS delayed another game until monday) we could win out and then sit there not knowing our fate then detroit could win on Monday and we'd be eliminatd anyway

it feels hella cheap but whatever, there were several games the mariners couldve won this year but didnt so they have no one to blame but themselves. it was still a pretty damn hyphy year, earlier in the year we lead MLB in walk off wins and shit was exciting and fun, and we had more home runs this season than any team since the mid 90s when we had griffey and a-rod and all those people, so i cant be too crushed

The Mariners have won 15 of their past 21 to bump themselves up to a season-best 11 games over .500 at 85-74, but Baltimore's 4-0 victory over Toronto leaves them little wiggle room heading into the season's closing weekend.
If the Mariners win their final three, they'll need either the Orioles or Blue Jays to lose two-of-three and have the Tigers lose at least once to force a tiebreaker for the final Wild Card spot. If they go 2-1 in their final three, they'd need Toronto or Baltimore to lose all three and have the Tigers lose twice.
