1. Consume calories at a lower rate than your body burns them.
I believe people that are pre-disposed to be fat... only real way to manage it is building muscle mass. Your body likes to pack on the fat, and the more muscle = more calories your body burns at baseline. Other wise you go back and forth on diets for rest of your life. Severe calorie restriction is not the cure for people with real obese issues.

Every human on planet earth is predisposed to pack on fat. It's an evolutionary mechanism we've evolved over thousands of years to survive. There are no special snowflakes, only people who eat too much and aren't honest about it. The worst thyroid conditions may account for maybe a 300 calorie difference in basal metabolic rate but can easily be controlled with medication and tracking caloric intake. Don't fall for people's fat logic you're too intelligent

Lol at don't eat carbs carbs are life
Team r/Keto... seriously there is an argument to be made for a under 30g carb daily diet. You don't spike insulin so your way less risk for diabetes, you lean up, don't carry water weight. You don't get hunger spikes, and can maintain off burning fat for energy once your body adapts. Sugar is like any drug cold turkey is rough, but once you get past that point you start to really notice a difference in your mood/ cognition / energy ect.

Not true at all. Everyone has different metabolic rates - some people have to work A LOT harder to keep weight off than others.

When I was a runner I probably would have died if I was on a keto diet lol carbs rule
Nah man, the Top Ultramarathoner in the world do Ketodiet. A lot of MMA fighters are going towards that - because once your body adapts to efficiently using ketones, you have a steady supply. Unlike glucose stores that deplete and gas you out earlier. Takes your body little under a year to get to that efficiency if I remember right.

There's a lot of MMA fighters that went towards it and have already stopped because they said they felt weak in the gym.

Meisha Tate will probably stop after UFC 200 lol her first fight after changing to keto and she had the worst weight cut of her life, almost didn't even make weight, and was completely lethargic in the cage.
