is there any good networks ony mirc that still up and running or any that other ppl recomend?

Why are you specifically after grouprips? Most of them are encoded in VBR, which even with the highest quality setting is not the highest quality mp3 you can have (320kbps cbr is).
Here's what I've been doing lately for hard to find stuff:
1 - Go to discogs.com
2 - Find a rare release I want
3 - Mark it down on my wantlist
5 - Look at the other users who have it in their collection
6 - Send them a message asking if they want to trade a lossless rip of that release for anything in my own collection
And I have yet to have that fail on me. At least one person that owns the release will always be down to trade. If they don't see something they want from my collection they usually just rip it for me anyway.
If you aren't on discogs already, you guys should make an account and add your collections on there. I also get hit up a fair amount by ppl looking for rips from my collection and can almost always find something from theirs I want in return.
