He's 34 so he's not that old as long as he gets things going after tonight, Stevenson was 35/36 when he beat Dawson. I'm sure just looking good today even in a loss is great exposure for him and will open more doors. Interesting match up though for sure, I think tonight will answer a lot of questions about Ward and if he's back to top form or if he's lost a step.

Yeah I meant more of in a future potential way, not that he can't get big wins. Stevenson is still the same guy that he was at that point, a hard punching southpaw that relies on his power. Barrera is likely not getting much better than what he is now.

Nick Blackwell's corner and the ref shouldn't be working anymore. Blackwell was getting beat so bad Eubank Sr told Jr to stop throwing punches to the head in the corner and try to get him out to the body cause the guy was getting hurt too bad. Then they let it go round after round until Blackwell's in a coma. Ridiculous.

I would never count Ward out but I definitely favor Kovalev if the fight happened next. Maybe Ward needs another fight before we'll see.
I'm not sure anymore. I was pretty impressed by Ward. LHW looks to be no problem for him. I think he could probably beat Kovalev stealing rounds and smothering his offense. Ward is a very intelligent fighter, it takes a lot to throw him off, not sure Kovalev can do that. I never though GGG could beat Ward, and at the moment I doubt Kovalev as well.

Ward can always hit him in the nuts too..lol...

I never thought Kovalev would blow Ward out the water. Inactivity would've been the only unknown. Ward may have some shit with him getting in the ring, but once he's in he's legitimately great.

Kovalev has range and can box himself or he can fight inside and hurt people with short shots, it might be risky for Ward to try that smothering technique on Kovalev. Definitely an interesting match, the winner is the #1 p4p fighter in the world. I don't think its a cakewalk by any means but I favor Kovalev, he's a big man and struggles to make 175 plus he's shown he isn't one dimensional. Ward has a good chance though.

Didn't have to be a KO specialist. After the knockdown he ran from Ward the entire fight. No way in hell that compubox of 700+ punches was accurate for Barrerra.

And it's about time he fought at 175. I mean he won a medal at light heavyweight so he should be able to compete against guys in the 175lb range.

Ward will be exposed. Kovalev is going to destroy him.

Naw Ward will expose Kovalev actually. Got Em!!

He fought Paul Smith at light heavyweight last year.

Not that it matters, but Kovalev KOs Barrera within 5 rounds for sure.
Oh forgot about Smith. And who cares how a fight would go between Herrera and Kovalev. We dont know and it dont matter. Got Em!!
