The funniest part of this conversation is Grim has supposedly done "extensive research" and claims middle class college students in the past have never been "safe space" people like they are now when he doesn't even realize the Politically Correct movement in the 90's went way harder in the paint then what's happening now.

Except they don't lol

Ultra conservative speakers can still speak at campuses just like ultra liberals can come and protest them. Welcome to America, land of the free.
Ultra conservative speakers can't speak, nor do I support them because "ultra conservative" implies 'racist/hate-mongerer.' Milo Yiannopoulos is not, by any definition, 'ultra' conservative.

And maybe the concept hasn't reached your little redneck community, but you seem to have no idea about "no-platforming" which is frequently taking place in the Canada, the UK and, yessir, the United States of America.

The concept is simple. Do not give certain individuals any platform to speak. It's also not just conservatives who fall victim to this, many liberals (if they're not the right type of liberal) are no-platformed. One of the most influential feminists of the 70s Women's Liberation Movement has recently been totally no-platformed from all UK campuses due to comments stating that transgender men are not really women.

"You have a differing opinion to us, you have no right to speak!!"

Viva Mussolini! #fascist mobben

I am aware of that, but that was exclusively 'student activists.' Today it's a norm among young people.

Have a conversation with any kid at my school about freedom of speech, or really anything at all, and you'll be shocked into retracting some of your comments.

I'll try to find a story from last Halloween at one of the American universities where staff needed to approve all costumes to ensure they weren't offensive.

A Mexican kid wanted to dress up with his friends as a mariachi band, and he costume was not approved. He also received a response from white people pretty much telling him he needed to be offended as he's mocking his own culture.

Cool, Ima go drop history in school cuz I wasn't around in Germany in the 20s.....

I'm literally a year and a half away from the point at which I would be joining college and spend 100% of my time surrounded by the generation which is in/about to start college and I understand how they think and behave very clearly.
