You mind shedding why Star Wars is so good? Serious question. Is it like the themes, the characters? I seriously wanna know what makes this film have so much die hard followers.
I watched the original trilogy as a little kid. It just blew my mind away back then. I had never seen science fiction like that before, and also not really after. I played with Star Wars Toys etc.! So Star Wars will always have a place in my heart, and I can't wait to take my son to go see it. I'm currently watching the first six episodes with him...

The first He-Man movie was pretty bad, but I'd be fuckin stoked if they made a a new one as well.

It's just the story in general. If you follow the original. Yeah, it's Sci-Fi, good verses evil, run the galaxy shit.

But it's shit I along with a whole lot of people enjoy. There is nothing that I can say that's going to change your mind. It's either you dig it, or you don't.

Same for any other film. Some people thought "Straight Outta Compton" was over hyped.

Who gives a shit! To each his / her own. That's why we live in America. We can choose to like what ever the fuck we want.

On a serious note, what isn't marketing now a days? If you so much as buy a hat or any piece that has any type of logo on it, it's giving to a franchise or corp. Your cell phone, car etc. you're paying extra for a name and making them rich.

Wash you car and make sure it's clean so the logo shows what kind of car it is. We're all paying big money to advertise for them driving around flashing a logo on a moving vehicle.

So I'll be damn if I boycott anything based on that statement you gave.
I'm not asking for anyone to boycott it doggy. You are preaching to the choir on marketing, we are in perfect agreement. I was pointing out I don't see any value in the new Star Wars movie personally so I'm not giving two shits about its marketing/licensing or giving it any of my money. Disney will squeeze every penny from the mob caught up in the hype.
