Probably because aspartame is known as like "the brain tumor sweetener" even though thats totally false, and sucralose seems to be more accepted. I don't trust sucralose though and don't like the taste.

I rarely even drink something with stevia in it though, maybe like once a week

I quit sweet drinks by drinking La Croix sparkling water. There's like 20 different flavors and no bullshit in them.
