How many people can do what they do at that level?
Few, but how beneficial is football to the greater picture of life compared to say, fishing or crabbing? Football allows us, the fans, to fuck off for a few hours a week so we dont have to think about real shit, like war and famine. I guess that could be good or bad depending on who you are.

I don't agree with how Kam went about this whole situation, but I just wanted to point out the window for NFL players to make their money is much smaller compared to those other deadly careers, especially with Kam's physical style of play. They work their whole lives to get to the NFL and then they have a few years to make money before it's all over. Of course the ultra elite players it's a bit different, but for most guys they got a few years that's it.

I can definitely understand both sides, but Kam has no one to blame but himself and his agent (and really just himself because he hired and listened to his agent).

If he thought he was worth more than the contract - than don't sign it.

If he wanted to be payed by his performance each year - than only do short term deals.

If he wanted more guaranteed money - don't sign until it's there.

Yeah Kam's deal is not that great relative to his peers. Whose fault is that = Kam's.

Why do you disagree?

Here is how the have both graded out since 2011

.........MB -- Kam
2011 -- 7 - - 5
2012 -- 7 - - 20
2013 -- 5 - - 12
2014 -- 2 - - 20
Who's grades? ESPN's?

Kam is the QB in the 2ndary...having a big time SS is somewhat of a rare occurrence in the NFL, let alone having 2 (ET). What Kam provides at the back-end and what he can do at the line of scrimmage is invaluable IMHO. He strikes fear in the middle of the field which can change the way routes are run. He makes guys around him better that way, too. This may sound like a stretch to some, but if Kam plays against the Rams, our chances of winning that game increase greatly.

This doesn't detract to what MB does...pass rushing is extremely important. But even getting 1 sack a game can be hard to come by (he has never had a sack a game ever average, and had only 7 last year and has never dipped into double digits)....but big time hits in the secondary are nearly a every game occurrence for Kam, and they can change the way a team game plans. He is the biggest, by far, starting safety in the NFL. He is a LB playing S more or less. That just doesnt happen.

Check out what Lavarr Arrington said about Kam:

"Those type of safeties don't come very often" Some high praise for the @Seahawks SS from @LaVarArrington...

Look at that... Kam back and Bennett has his most explosive play this year he was back there ready for the sack as soon as the qb caught the hike lol

With Kam out there it let's everyone else do what they do, knowing the enforcer will take care of business

2 sacks in 6 plays (2 out of 5 passing plays) against a bears team that hasn't had a sack this year coming into the game. O line is trash.
