Wait.. what? I'm pretty sure that's against the law lol You should look it up man if you are sick you are sick and entitled to whatever amount of hours you are given or accumulated (not sure how OR does it) my guess would be AFTER calling out sick three shifts in a row they can ask for a note. I could be wrong but none of that sounds right.
In the city of Seattle only if you say you are sick or there is a family emergency that's the end of the convo and it doesn't matter if you have the sick hours to cover it or not. If you miss three consecutive scheduled shifts we can ask for a DRs note but if we do the company has to pay for the visit so of course they don't want us doing that anymore unless we are told to do so by HR.
