Yeah there's some good ones mixed with some terrible mismatches. Looking forward to Nicholas Walters vs. Miguel Marriaga, Errol Spence Jr. vs. Roberto Garcia and Lemieux vs N'dam the most.
I'm always skeptical of Colombian fighters that haven't really fought much in the states. Stopping Martin was impressive but that's really the only person he's ever fought.

Of course. But he did beat Nicholas is the amateurs so the history makes it interesting. Walters said: "Headlining at Madison Square Garden is every fighter's dream. I have unfinished business with Miguel Marriaga. He kept me out of the 2008 Olympics when he beat me in the Americas Olympic Qualifier, and I am ready to pay him back. I am going to chop him with the axe."

I didn't know they fought in the amateurs, but you know how I feel about that. The one thing about hard punching Colombians, they're always good for at least one big upset in their careers and they're either gonna knock you out or get knocked out trying.

I hope you're right about it just not overly pumped about the fight.

There's a few I really want to see (besides the obvious fights),

Dominic Breazeale vs. Yasmany Consuegrea
Felix Verdejo vs. Ivan Najera (though I think Verdejo rolls him, but good to see his HBO debut)
Ivan Redkach vs. Dejan Zlaticanin
Sammy Vasquez vs. Wale Omotoso
Dominic Wade vs. Sam Soliman
Diego Magdaleno vs. Jose A. "Chelo" Gonzalez
Amnat Ruenroeng vs. Johnriel Casimero

Vazquez Vs. Omotoso & Soto Vs. Beltran have potential to be real good fights.

Looking forward to Porter and Broner, too bad about the catchweight issue, still a fun fight. Waiting to see how Cotto is going to look against a MW and what his next plans will be if he wins.

Cotto at 153? He's gonna drop the belt after this. He's too small now to be at 160
It's kind of an odd strategy. Cotto was actually about 170 pounds when they signed the fight and was 165 at the 30 day mark. Roach wanted him slim for the weigh in but rehydrate about 10-13 pounds for the fight. From Roach:

Roach: Cotto Will Come in at 166, Knock Geale Out

By Miguel Rivera

According to trainer Freddie Roach, WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will weigh around 166-pounds by the time he steps in the on Saturday night against former champion Daniel Geale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Cotto demanded a catch-weight of 157-pounds for the bout and weighed in at 153.6 pounds, which is actually under the junior middleweight limit. Geale squeezed down to the limit of 157-pounds and struggled to do so.

The game plan put together by Roach is to target the body and break it down until Geale goes down for the count.

"It was a calculated weight [that Miguel made]. It was what we expected. Miguel will work very hard to the body of Geale. Miguel will knock Geale out. Miguel will climb to 166-pounds. He had a fabulous preparation. Geale showed that it cost a lot to make the agreed upon weight," Roach told El Vocero.

"He won't be able to get away from Miguel's attack which is going to begin from the first round. This is a very important for fight for us. There are many things out there waiting for us. You will see what I said about Miguel. He's in the best [shape of his career] and he will knock out Geale."

REAL DEAL GEALE!!!!!

cotto is gonna get knocked out like a bitch
Geale is the most intimidating boxer I've seen since Mike Tyson, he is truly terrifying! Is this a huge factor people are overlooking? How will Cotto feel when he steps into the ring and stares into the soulless eyes of Dan "gonna make you kneel" Geale?

Look at the masculine confidence he radiates:

You see the way he doesn't give a FLYING FUCK about wearing Adidas shoes and Nike shorts? That's because he doesn't GIVE A FLYING FUCK, just like he doesn't give a flying fu ck about Cotto.

The only thing I can think of that compares to Geale's intimidation is if we were to combine a wolf, a grizzly bear, a lion and a snake, and create some hellish creature. That's Geale - the Wolfbearionsnake. If for one moment you don't think he gives Cotto goosebumps, think again.

You try to look into his eyes but they are too intimidating so you have to look down, and when you look down the 18 strands of chest hair is almost shocking in the powerful manliness it symbolizes. I don't think I've ever seen anyone more manly, more intimidating than Geale, I don't even think Ernest Hemingway could accurately capture Geale's masculinity if he had one hundred years to write about it, just not possible.
