Here's my list for now. Gonna mix things up a bit. Completely dropped Marquez he hasn't fought forever. Pacquiao dropped off my list for poor performance/doesn't look sharp. Bradley dropped as well for not looking impressive or winning a fight since JMM in 2013.

1. Mayweather
2. Rigondeaux
3. Roman Gonzalez
4. Sergey Kovalev
5. Canelo
6. Terrence Crawford
7. Nicholas Walters
8. Gennady Golovkin
9. Naoya Inoue
10. Adonis Stevenson/Takashi Uchiyama

Some thoughts:
*Andre Ward will be inserted on the list once he makes his comeback next month.
*Estrada could easily be on there
*Pacquiao could jump back up with an impressive win.
*Lomachenko would jump all the way to my top five if he fights and beats Nicholas Walters.

I have no problem with this list except for the order and Thurman should be on there tied with someone.

Crazy they put Golovkin up there but no canelo. I like GGG and would pick him over canelo, but are these lists supposed to be based on resume at all? Canelo has a much more impressive resume than GGG.
I was surprised to see that too, especially The Ring which is owned by Golden Boy.

Pound 4 Pound lists are less to do with resume than actual weight class rankings, probably focus a bit more on the perceived skills of the fighters.

For me, Canelo's run of Trout, Angulo, Lara and Kirkland make him my #5. Perhaps there are some who thought he should have lost to Lara and that's why they don't have him on there. Only explanation I can think of.

Froch: I want to take Golovkin’s undefeated record off him

froch673By Scott Gilfoid: A still very conflicted Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) is at it again with his doubtful talk about how he’d beat WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) if they’d fight, but then in the same sentence, yapping about how might retire instead of taking the fight.

Froch, 37, says he’s not sure if he wants to fight on or retire, but he still feels he’d whip Golovkin if he decided to honor him with a fight. I smell fear. I think Froch hasn’t made up his mind because the picture in his mind of all the things that can go wrong in a fight against Golovkin.

Believe, a lot can go wrong for Froch if he gives his promoter Eddie Hearn the green light to make the fight with the talented Kazakhstan fighter. I mean, just think of the image of Froch flat on his face on the canvas, out cold in front of 80,000 Brits at Wembley Stadium in London, UK. It would potentially be a bad ending for Froch.

Of course, if Froch won the fight, he would be covered with glory and could retire a hero, and likely walk away with $15 million. Unlike Froch’s two back to back wins over domestic level fighter George Groves, it would be a real win for Froch if he were to beat Golovkin. It wouldn’t be an empty win over an unproven guy with a chin and stamina problems like with Groves.

“Golovkin? He doesn’t worry me, I fear no man. I’ll fight Golovkin if I box again, but it’s a big if,” Froch said via Skysports.com. “If I do end up fighting Golovkin I want to take his undefeated record off him.”

Froch sounds like he’s in major denial about him not being afraid of Golovkin. We saw just a couple of months ago how Froch was raring to go at the thought of getting a fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Froch was flapping his gums about how he thought it would be a great way to end his career fighting Chavez Jr. under the lights of Las Vegas, Nevada.

I don’t think anyone saw that as an interesting fight that they wanted to pay to see. Instead, the general consensus was that Froch was looking for an easy mark to cash out with, and Chavez Jr. was perfect for that. Unfortunately for Froch, he hurt his elbow, and Chavez Jr. turned around and fought light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara and got whipped by him last April. Now Froch is stalled at the thought of fighting a much more dangerous fighter in Golovkin.

The money for the Golovkin fight is likely the same that Froch would have gotten had he fought Chavez Jr. The difference is that Froch has a very, very real chance of losing, and we’re not talking about losing like he did against Andre Ward and how he arguably lost against Andre Dirrell. Froch has a chance of being knocked out by Golovkin in the clinical sense. That kind of thing causes someone to hesitate, and we’re seeing it with Froch right now. He’s hesitating and I read that as fear and a bad case of stage fright.

“He’s a middleweight and I think I would be too strong for him and I think I will be able to take his punches a lot better than the middleweights have taken them – or not taken them,” Froch said.

Well, Froch, if you’re “too strong for him” then why in the heck aren’t you signing the dotted line to get the talented Golovkin in the ring so you can show boxing fans that you’re better than him? You barely took Groves’ punches, so how are you going to be able to take a guy that punches much harder than Groves for 12 rounds?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR. DISPUTES AMIR KHAN: "HE'S A LIAR...I NEVER EVER SAID THAT HE COULD BEAT MY SON"
By Ben Thompson | May 25, 2015
FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR. DISPUTES AMIR KHAN:

In a recent interview with The Daily Star, former world champion Amir Khan once again stated his case that he should be next in line to face undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. "When he trained me one time, he said 'You'll be the guy to beat my son'," Khan commented, suggesting that even Mayweather's own father, world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., once told him that he had the tools to give Floyd the first blemish on his perfect record. There's only one problem with that statement. Mayweather Sr. denies ever saying that to Khan.

"He's a liar and that's the biggest lie on the plant. I had a meeting with Khan at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas in 2006. He gave me an autographed book about his life and his time in the Olympics. We had a meeting and he wanted me train him," Mayweather Sr. explained, recalling an initial meeting the two men had when Khan was first looking for a new trainer to work with. "Amir Khan was accompanied by his dad an he wanted to be trained by me, but it never happned. I never trained him. He ended up going with Freddie The Joke Coach Roach."

When FightHype.com reached out to Mayweather Sr. for his response to Khan's comments, he emphatically denied ever making such a statement. "I never ever said that he could beat my son. I never ever have said that any man alive could beat my son. Amir Khan has a glass jaw. He's not good enough, nor is anybody on the planet good enough to beat my son. He just wants to get a payday befoe it's all over with. That's the only way he'll be able to live comfortable like he wants to live. If he's going to continue telling lies, keep in mind, that's how lawsuits happen," Mayweather Sr. added.

Huge blow for 50 Cent's boxing company SMS Promotions -- TMZ Sports has learned the rapper's company has just filed for bankruptcy.

50 started SMS Promotions back in 2012 ... and signed some pretty big names in the sport, including then-undefeated champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, James Kirkland and Olympic medalist Andre Dirrell.

But apparently, the boxing biz hasn't been as kind to 50 as it has been to others like his pal Floyd Mayweather ... because according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the company filed for Chapter 11 on May 25th.

In court docs filed in Connecticut, SMS says it has between $100k and $500k in debts.

SMS just put on a fight in Connecticut on May 15th -- though it clearly wasn't enough to turn the company around.

Story developing ...

^^^^everyone knows Cotto isn't going to fight GGG. I want him to lose to Canelo cuz Canelo will be man enough. Golovkin should force his mandatory position though, be a real thorn in cottos ass, maybe get him stripped. He shouldnt back down.

Looks like this is the reason behind it:

SMS Promotions Files Bankruptcy To Get Defamation (Sex Tape) Trial Moved
Rapper 50 Cent And His Lawyers Incurred The Wrath Of A New York Judge On Tuesday (26may15) After Failing To Show Up In A New York Court To Begin Jury Selection As Part Of A Defamation Trial.

The In Da Club star is being sued by Lastonia Leviston, who shares a son with rival rapper Rick Ross, amid allegations 50 Cent is responsible for leaking her sex tape with her then-boyfriend Maurice Murray in 2009.

50 Cent had apparently edited the video in an attempt to embarrass Ross, blurring Murray's face and inserting an image of himself into the footage, while Leviston's features remained visible.

The case is due to go to trial and jury selection was expected to get underway on Tuesday.

However, 50's lawyers instead filed papers to have the lawsuit moved just 10 minutes before the process was due to start, citing a bankruptcy petition he had filed for his boxing company, SMS Promotions, in a federal court in Connecticut this week.

They alerted Leviston's legal team to the change via email, claiming bankruptcy law protects their client from being sued while he is facing financial difficulty, since he is the primary owner of SMS Promotions.

They are seeking the case be moved from state court to federal jurisdiction, but Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Paul Wooten chastised them in a conference call later on Tuesday and insisted that as the notice had not been properly served, he was staying in charge of the case, reports the New York Daily News.

Leviston's lawyers moved for a default judgement, but Wooten deferred the ruling.

50 Cent had previously lost his bid to have the defamation suit dismissed and has since decided to take Ross to court, blaming him for allegedly posting the intimate footage of his ex online first.

Golovkin Haters and Boxing Double-Standards

By Michael Montero: Gennady “GGG” Golovkin has remained busy since hitting the boxing scene in the United States in late 2012, averaging a fight every few months. Over that time the Kazakhstan native has delivered nothing but knockouts inside the ring, and a humble “man of the people” demeanor outside of it that has not only made him an HBO darling, but a favorite among diehard fight fans to boot.

However, there is a size-able minority of haters out there, and that community continues to grow as well. And for these folks, there seems to be no double-standard too big to eradicate their hated of the Big Drama Show.

Fresh off his win over Willie Monroe Jr in Los Angeles a couple weeks back, there were GGG haters tweeting away about how the middleweight champion had been “exposed” by the challenger. “If Quillin had landed those punches (that Monroe did), GGG would’ve been KO’d”, tweeted the haters, “if Monroe could hit him, imagine what Cotto would do”. Posts like these seemed to him social media boxing chats almost instantly.

But here’s the thing, Golovkin would not fight Quillin (or Cotto, Canelo, etc) the way he fought Monroe. It was obvious to everybody ringside on Saturday the 16th that after dominating the first two rounds, GGG just wanted to have a little fun in there and entertain the fans. After a few rounds of back and forth, Golovkin came out focused in the 6th and put his opponent down just twenty seconds in. There was no moment over the six rounds against Monroe where the champion looked worried, discouraged, or in the slightest bit of trouble. Yet some would have you believe that Golovkin was lucky to escape with the victory. “He’s overrated”, tweeted the haters, “and the Monroe fight is proof”.

These same critics calling Golovkin “overrated” often complain that he is yet to face an elite opponent. They act as if GGG has been holding the middleweight division hostage for years facing the weakest opposition possible. The truth is that his team has reached out to the top fighters at 160 pounds, but most have been unwilling (Cotto) or contractually unable (Quillin, Jacobs, etc) to sign the contract. K2 Promotions is currently negotiating with Englishman Carl “The Cobra” Froch for a possible super middleweight showdown later this year. If that fight does indeed come off it would be Golovkin’s first big name opponent and his first bout north of the middleweight limit. Would this be enough to silence the critics? Not likely. Froch hasn’t fought in a year and has been on the wall contemplating retirement. Should Golovkin fight and beat him, the haters will be quick to mention those points.

Then there’s the name Andre Ward, whom the haters want Golovkin to fight this very second. They seem to forget that Ward has fought only twice since winning Showtime’s “Super Six” tournament in 2011 (against the above mentioned Froch) and has been removed from the rankings. Furthermore, Ward is slated to make his comeback in June against the unheralded Paul Smith, a fighter coming off two straight losses, at a catchweight of 172 pounds. And lastly, the American – who was once seated at the top of many pound for pound lists – has lost nearly all marketability and brings zero economic muscle to the table. Tom Loeffler of K2 promotions has made it clear that they would move Golovkin up in weight for a one off if the money was right. This is why they’re talking to Froch right now and before him, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (up until his career recently imploded). Regarding Andre Ward, who may never fight at 168 pounds again, what is the benefit of making that fight right now?

Plenty of middleweight champions of the past have been stuck in this same scenario. Bernard Hopkins and Marvin Hagler before him toiled at 160 pounds against all willing comers for years until finally getting their opportunities to face the big names. For Bhop it was Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya, two careers welterweights. For Hagler it was Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns and Ray Leonard, all career welterweights. It is so inconceivable that K2 Promotions wants to push the same business model with Gennady Golovkin as the all-time great middleweight champions that preceded him? Would boxing fans rather have a champion sit on the sidelines and not fight as opposed to staying active against B-level opponents until the big names become willing and able to dance? GGG, who recently relocated with his family to Los Angeles, is still in the process of building his brand. The truth is that he is 33 years old and thus won’t have a long reign. That means the big fights will happen, but all in due time. Until then, what’s not to love? Let’s all enjoy the Big Drama Show!
