I ended up getting a motherboard with a decent sound card already embedded.
thats what I thought i did, but im not sure. im looking at these headphoens that are 150ohm impedence and no idea if the onboard sound can push that or if theyll be underpowered. its an asus z97a and the audio is

so i dunno man. ill have to look more into it i dont want to drop like 60bucks on a sound card. also i was looking at all this other shit too thats out there like DAC's and headphone amplifiers, but im guessing thats all audiophile type addiction stuff that only people who fell for the placebo effects. im not one of those ppl lol i just want great sound for movies and music and games
