He does have kid(s) and maybe a wife an family in general. I would assume took time off to raise his kids and stuff. I am glad to hear a new album is in the works!

as long as the production is better than his last album with no generic southern tracks (block movement) back in 2005 then ill buy. loooong overdue. damn its been nearly 10 years since he dropped block movement, not counting the other album he dropped in 2007 which was something like a rare tracks/bsides.
