When I bought my TV I mistakenly thought I was buying the "smart" version, but between the uninformed sales person, stock problem, and basically giving up on the staff I ended up home with the regular TV. The Chromecast seems like the way to go to get the "smart tv" features I initially thought I was getting.

You should get a Roku to make your tv a smart tv. Chromecast doesn't actually make things a smart tv since you gotta stream from a phone or tablet.

The website makes it sound like you could access the apps from the TV itself, but you're right, it is all accessed via your phone or computer.

Is it that big of a deal? Seeing as it costs $30 vs. however much the other 2 cost...?
