Someone on Reddit posted a great meme about this, but I can't find it now. It was the media's reaction to everyday paparazzi vs the fappening.

@ do you know which one I am talking about?
No I don't but if I come across it ill post it here

I honestly can't answer that for week 1, because I only watched the Pittsburgh and Cleveland game. Surprisingly and unexpectedly the officials let both teams play without those sissy ass calls that Goodell always wants enforced.

For the bigger picture though, he has been watering down the game due to the business angle of maximizing profits through the NFL. It all started when they figured out how they could capitalize off people who never cared for football before. Now the NFL is catering to these fantasy football nerds who would have not followed football before. Just look at these lame ass commercials during the games and you can see who they are targeting. It's a business, plain and simple.

I have nothing against fantasy football and I even use to play it at work years ago to win money. I started having a problem with it when it began to take over how the league was ran. Over the years they keep on making these changes to help the offense while increasing the disadvantages for the defense.

Obviously, I never cared for Seattle, but I know those in power (Goodell and others) hated how last year's super bowl ended. You know they were heated after Seattle's defense dismantled Peyton Manning and the rest of the Broncos. The last thing they want to see is a blowout because they don't even want to flirt with the idea of the ratings declining. I heard something last month about how Seattle got in trouble by the league for practicing too rough? What kind of shit is that?! How the fuck are you going to penalize or fine a team for practicing too hard?

Terry Bradshaw was right when he said years ago that these QB's will be wearing dresses before you know it. He could see this shit coming. If Goodell takes away special teams which he has been hinting about, then that will be it for me. I will be done with the NFL.

Yes. We were missing Josh Gordon!

gimpypimp @gimpypimp - You can't tell me you didn't get excited after halftime this last Sunday. Your boys almost pulled off a big comeback. Did you see how heated this Cleveland fan was at halftime after he left the game? Funny shit!

He isn't serious. He posts youtube vids all the time (mostly about videogames) where he goes nuts.
Thanks for clearing that up, because I thought it was a legit reaction. It is believable to me because I have seen fans at times go berserk over some shit like this before.

I am so confused as to why the footage of him hitting her has made everything 10x worse (for him in the public eye, not the NFL itself)?

what did people think happened in the elevator? he was dragging her out like a caveman after he knocked her out.

id say the video would only make things worse if he stomped her out or some shit. I just really dont get what people initially thought went down in that elevator that the new footage is shocking to them.

And not only that but he told the NFL and the police exactly what he did and how it went down.

Spot on with this post. 100% cosign.

I was going to bring up Fantasy Football but you already nailed it. And if people are skeptical yes gambling has effected the league multiple times before, for example the entire reason why injury reports are mandatory is because of gamblers demanded to know who's playing, who isn't and who's hurt. In the old days teams kept that private. Now it's fantasy football - everyone wants stupid fucking points from the players they draft. I hate fantasy football it's so fucking stupid who gives a flying fuck how many yards some asshole has, even if the team loses by 20.

And yes, they hated to see the record breaking denver offense and their hero/god Payton Manning get destroyed so they add more rules. They made defensive rule changes when the Steelers were dominating in the 70s as well.

Senator Richard Blumenthal said:
“Recent reports that the NFL had the Ray Rice battering video point to Roger Goodell’s burgeoning, insurmountable credibility gap,” Blumenthal said in a statement issued through his office. “If these reports are true, Commissioner Goodell must go, for the good of the NFL and its fans. The current leadership of the NFL cannot be trusted to fairly, genuinely implement policies that address domestic violence. As Roger Goodell himself said several years ago when allegations arose that the New Orleans Saints offered bounties for injuring opponents, ‘ignorance is not an excuse.’

“The NFL has an obligation to do better, and a position of public trust – benefiting from broad anti-trust exemptions granted by Congress, and hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer benefits. If these allegations are true, Roger Goodell is part of the problem, and he is incapable of achieving a real solution.”
Please get Goodell the fuck up outta there!

what the fuck does anti trust mean. is it some shit where they cant share secrets or some shit
You serious with that question, fam? If not, lol. If you are serious it has to do with companies, monopolies, mergers, etc. Basically it;s some business shit about what you can and can't do based on certain laws and acts. They say antitrust laws are to protect the consumers from all sorts of shit, but is that the case?
