All "Mustard stole the bay whatever" BS aside, I agree with Mustard. He's right - to an extent. West Coast "Mainstream" Hip Hop was out of the limelight. The southern / Dirty South 'sound' has been at the forefront in Hip Hop for a hot minute until this current sound came thru.

That said, if cats can get past their differences -this could be a good time for some cats from the bay to slide in thru the side door and work with this cat on the 'next' bay hit...

I give him props for hustling himself into a position where rappers want his beats though. I never would've thought top names would fuck with that sound. And some of his tracks are cool to me. Just think he needs to chill out in his interviews.

some of his shits dope but he be using 90's house sounds on some of his shit (24 Hours/Paranoid/Dont Tell 'em/Show Me). those sounds were wack in 90's house and he uses them wackly on his shit. but the masses disagree. beats are subjective. you just need the right beat in the right hands, and have the right person put the right vocals on it. every style has a chance.

I really hope this fool is investing and saving his money smart, and not making it rain on stupid materialistic bullshit he gonna probably sell once artists choose a different sound from his own reason 6.0/6.5 beats. He may be right up at the top of this radio shit now, but a year from now could end up on some scott storch shit, and struggling to make a comeback down the road. He really do needs to shut his mouth and play his role as a producer, not artist.
