Hella funny when people post shit like this... Now I appreciate the fact you gonna take a listen, but what rock have you been under? Wax been a top 5 bay area MC for a LONG time. Bar for bar, song for song you cant name 5 cats with a better block of work. Its not even debatable.
Some cats have a hot song. Some cats kick a dope ryme here and there. Some artists pick good beats.... Wax entire career has VERY little mishaps as far as music is concerned. And to further the point, for every 1 song you might be able to say is sub par there is an entire album worth of FIRE to counter balance the equation.
Now im super biased, but I dont even think the haters hate on Wax based on Music. The haters only hate cause of scenario's that may put their favorite rapper against A Wax... But bar for bar, Wax has NEVER lost a battle and his track record on music is damn near flawless over an EXTENDED period of time. Only thing Wax ever lost in hip hop was the proverbial popularity contest. And even that is starting to swing in his favor.
Sorry for the rant or long winded response.... But I hate the sleepers who come off as doing someone a favor for listening... The shit is fire. Check the views on the threads and amount of comments on this site alone. Wax is cracking and the music is bangin!
And one last thing, Berner earned his position. Barter and trade is a form of payment. He had something that worked in his favor. He saw a lane and jumped in it 100%. That panned out for him. Is he the best rapper, no. But is the best hustler? Quite possibly he is. His quality is unmatched and he works like nobody in the business besides maybe E 40. All you can do is salute and keep it pushing!

I got a copy of this in the mail few days ago - Thanks Dutch for the really quick postage (I'm assuming you organised it) and the only feedback I have to give is consistent with what everyone else has posted so far.
This is my first A-Wax CD and now I'm a massive fan to the point where I'm going back now to pick up the rest of the catalogue.
This is money well spent, excellent well thought through and superbly executed album. A-Wax deserves to be at the top with this effort.

i've been listening to Wax since savage times. I was probably the first person on this board to give him props for his music while he was being abrasive typing in all caps making enemies with people on this board (b12 was one of them ironically), but your assessment of near flawless music is a little overstated. he's got bars I agree, but those have not necessarily translated to the best songs. there are a lot of wax songs that i like, but since his early days there is not an album that I would say is hella dope with a bunch of dope songs. for example, that "momma house" song was weak to me, that gun range song had a boring chorus and compton menace isn't that good. on the other hand, his song with fab, the one they used to shoot the video in meadowview was dope, don't look back was dope too. so basically it's a bunch of hits and misses to me. but i'm not saying wax is somehow at fault, this is indicative of a lot of bay area rap as of late. this is all subjective though, but I know there are a lot of people with similar opinions. so i don't necessarily think people are all sleeping. there might be people out there that don't like him just because of the mob figaz beef, and even though that is a shame, it comes with the territory of fandom. there are people that don;t like mob figaz for the same reason.
*for the record I have not heard the pulling strings album, but based on how people are responding i'm guessing it's going to be similar to previous works: good lyrics, some good songs and some boring ones.
