Now that money is on the table the excuses come out. I see how it is.

And of course picking Martinez to beat Cotto wasn't some off the wall, bat shit crazy prediction, like when Tony predicted Alfonzo Gomez would KO Cotto. Martinez was the favorite and I obviously didn't know to the extent of Sergio's physical state. If you think of the style match up, especially given the fact Cotto was easily beat by Austin Trout prior, the logical choice was Martinez. It's usually smart to look at the style match up and who it favors. Most the people that picked Cotto to win, like Diggidy, they all were banking on Martinez being old and his legs not being anymore, which they were right. But for me, I hadn't seen enough deterioration in the ring to make that conclusion yet. It's like your betting on a guy showing up old.
Dude a wrong prediction is a wrong prediction. If the two fight and I decide to pick Cotto than Ill let you know. However I dont bet 500 on anything. I aint a gambler like that. Even on Floyd I dont bet 500 and thats about as sure about as u can get. So again we might can bet sumthin smaller if the fight happens and if I pick Cotto which I dont even know yet. Got Em!!

I'd be shocked if Chavez Jr. could make 160. He was taking diuretics to make the weight. I really wish we had a competent commission to make decisions on this stuff man. If you've been rumored to struggle making weight, miss weight multiple times, and test positive for diuretics, you shouldn't even be allowed to try to make that weight again.

I'd still like to see a Chavez jr. v Cotto fight though. Dang near any Mexican v. Puerto Rican fight is cool with me, even though I can't stand Chavez, it would make for an interesting fight. I guess I didn't even realize Roach wasn't training him anymore either.

I've been cautious to jump on the GGG bandwagon. I've been critical of his opponent selection but it's becoming pretty obvious that no one really wants to fight him. I give the dudes that stepped up to fight him major props for stepping up to the plate. He has enough of the Russian amateur style mixed with ridiculous punching power and toughness to make him really dangerous. Reminds me a bit of Kostya Tsyzu, which I hate saying to be honest, but his power in both hands, aggressiveness, and sneaky defense reminds me of him at times, even though Tsyzu's punches were a lot straighter. I just wish these Middleweights would step up and fight him. I was surprised to hear that quote from Froch they were talking about yesterday on HBO.

That Froch quote was taken insanely out of context. Froch said that during a face to face interview on the buildup to a fight with Groves, started laughing as soon as he said and the crowd laughed with him. Groves went on to say "he does punch hard but he may be undersized being a middleweight" and Froch said "that's a fair point he's a middleweight and coming up you never know".

I know HBO was using it as hype but it was a bit ridiculous.

Golovkin reminds me more of Chavez Sr. The way he cuts off the ring and attacks body and head. More powerful though.

Cotto vs Chavez Jr has been in talks for like a month now. I wish US tv had boxing shows like ESPN covers boxing. Chavez is repotedly walking at like 175 or so so yeah he can make weight, but it won't be healthy for fight night. Although I do think Cotto would beat GGG, he won't fight him cuz the risk is too hight, but if Canelo vs Cotto doesn't happen, then it will be GGG next. But Chavez will make weight just watch...

Seems like its mostly Chavez Sr doing all the talking, "My son can make weight". Can he? He was drained as fuck at 173, I'm sure making 168 is a big challenge. The boy has simply grown It's not like he's fat. He's a skeleton at weigh in's. If he makes 160 it will be because of diuretics. If this fight goes down I'll be curious to see what kind of drug testing there is. No way he makes 160 naturally unless he literally starves himself and loses all muscle weight.

Tony said Gomez would KO Cotto? Well, that was a very bold and off the wall prediction.

Golden Boy told Gomez that they would give him a spot in the next big card, based on his last win. I watched the Canelo vs Lara fight with him. He trains over here in Santa Fe Springs and lately he has been working really hard on his strength and conditioning. Really good guy and willing to give pointers in the gym.

Ya chavez is a big kid. I wouldn't be surprised if he hits low 200s on his off time.

That was a good win for Gomez. Coming off 2 losses, "down" twice and pulled out a decision. For some reason Paredes didn't do a damn thing through 10 rounds and Gomez took advantage of that.

I actually didn't even watch his last fight but he said those two knockdowns were non sense. He figured they were going to try and rob from him right from the start. His face wasn't too banged up either.

Glad he got the win...
