Check it...Pacquaio has the same speed NOW as he has had THEN...he has the same STRENGTH...the difference is he was using PEDS which allow you to train longer, more vigorous recover faster thus giving you an optimal result come fight day.
Really man? Look at my sig again. Look at the movement. Now watch the Rios and Bradley fight. Did you see any of that movement and explosiveness? It's not there because it's not the same.
Look at the combo's, the speed:
The footwork & movement.
It's just not the same. You can't honestly say that age hasn't affected his game.
Pacquiao is 35 years old with 63 fights under his belt, a pro since he was 15 years old. He is the same age when Roy Jones got KO'd and just wasn't the same athletic freak that he was years prior. Age has caught up with Pacquiao and it's obvious.
And even Floyd. Look at Floyd's fight with Maidana and Cotto. Where is the movement? it's not there. Floyd is mostly all upper body defense now. Compare that to when Floyd was younger and used all of the ring, was faster, threw more combinations. Totally different. There is no way in hell a prime Floyd would struggle with a guy like Maidana. No way. The truth is he's a 36/37 years old aging fighter.
I mean look at this, when was the last time you seen Floyd do this kind of work?
Floyd is all 1 and 2 punches at a time now. He's aged/slowed down a lot.
The difference obviously is Floyd however is he is a technically sound fighter, flawless nearly, and defensive minded. So he'll last longer, similar to Bernard Hopkins in that sense. Whereas with Pacquiao and Roy Jones, they relied more on their athletic and natural gifts of talent (i.e speed, movement, explosiveness). When age caught up with them, they don't have the fundamentals to fall back on like Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins.
Bernard Hopkins/Roy Jones and Mayweather/Pacquiao are actually great comparisons. Hopkins out lasted Jones and James Toney because of his health and his fundamentals, just as Floyd will outlast Pacquiao.
To say age is not a factor is just plain ignorance.
Why isn't he fighting Amir Khan who is openly available and a much BIGGER NAME than Algeri...
Top Rank, Roach, Pacquiao actually wanted Amir Khan. He was the name they wanted (after Marquez). But it appears Khan is with Al Haymon now and they are going another route on Showtime. From information today it doesn't appear Khan has a contract with Golden Boy.
