My buick got a .41dc , but a 1989 trans am got a .32?, with the same set up motor wise, will gain 6mph in the quarter mile , thats crazy a fuck to me. Also a buick with the governor removed, will go 162 or so mph, I know people with stock trans ams that have hit 177, so its makes a huge different, the gtr35 is fucking .26.

I was not surprised by the results in the video, expected Tesla to outperform the others. DuceTheTruth @DuceTheTruth Thanks for sharing, very interesting read and ironic as I just gave a presentation on DeLorean and his work at GM -mainstreaming the popularity of high performance American autos as well as fuel efficient lines (which imo the latter were garbage lol) to average consumers. (GM could use a mind like DeLorean right about now ha)

That's interesting you bring that up, I was just reading an unrelated article the other day regarding the 87' GNX and 89' TTA.

I'm guessing that trans am is more equivalent to a slipstream than the Buick....all gm love....

No matter the motor or setup.....aerodynamics is key.

The vega became the ls1... they just didnt have the computer tech and engine management to pull it off.

A T-type is a better car for street racing then both of them, the gn is a better car then a gnx period, the TTA lacks in chassis strength, alot of guys have kinked the subframe.

They learned how to make a good aluminum motor from its design flaws, and they applied it to the ls1, which then got us where we are now, i still havent owned a ls motor car yet, but plan on it.

And Yea ...I knew too many wouldn't be interested in this..

Just the die hards and intellectuals......about automobiles.

I'm disappointed about gm fairing mid pack....

And about the telsa...I guess you get what you pay for.

Maybe if the volt....or the elr go 2nd gen.....MAYBE we might really see some cool shit....state of the art shit......gm can do it....they just be half assin sometimes.

The article was mostly talking about reported HP vs. actual HP, and then the roll aerodynamics played in the speeds of models with similar dyno'd HP. But the biggest problem they had was finding an unmolested TTA to dyno.

Like the TTA was rated at something like 250 hp and dyno'd at 285 or 290, I don't have the article in front of me, and the GNX was rated at 245 and dyno'd @ ~300...

Anyway, aside from muscle cars, American SC's/turbo's are my favorite sub-section of cars. The GN's and TTA's, SHO's, and all the 2.2 turbo stuff from Chrysler etc etc...

It's also cool the GNX is supposed to make a comeback in 2015, all black twin turbo V-6 @ ~400 hp...

What is special about the lc2 is how it responds to turbo's, plus the buick crowd is about the sharpest crowd of guys you will find, plus people have been fucking with these cars for 30 years. they got it pretty figured out, If you never driven a healthy gn that runs right, every man should do that before they die.
