But 44Mbps is really not that fast - it's good for most practical purposes, but it is still a long way from a gigabit connection, which is what should be becoming the standard in the near future. But instead of investing in that as the rest of the world, ISPs in the US will be implementing caps...
It depends on what you are doing. 44Mbps is plenty fast for everyday stuff, including watching streamed HD movies. However, as you stated, moving large amounts of data sets....not optimal. Hell, my company was on a bonded T1 up until last year, and it was plenty fast for our organization. It wasnt until we got a VPN with a VoIP phone clear across the country that things got foggy, and we went to DSL as primary, T1 as backup/VPN only.

On another note, "4G" is not really 4G. Its more like 3G. Its all about branding. REAL 4G will exceed 100mbps once implemented, and will be called "5G" im sure.

Do you got teksavvy out there? They buy rogers and bell in bulk and resell for way cheaper. It cost about $75 for unlimited bandwidth and 35-40mbps download. Or $60 for same but 300Gb bandwidth.

Nope, never heard of it. But, I'm in Saskatoon for school and everything is ass backwards here.

when the comcrap/time warner merger goes through expect pro-empire propaganda to arrive in the mail. the ceos probably issued pro-merger propaganda statements that claim the merger is benificial to consumers. when one of these multi billion dollar mergers happen in any industry its never good for consumers. if these buyouts never happened and the fcc was disbanded guess what would happen. we would see a national standard of around 25mbps for maybe $30 a month taxes and fees included
