I told a millionare (muti, multi, multi millionare) to step off today, it was pretty awesome.
But I have to step out for awhile, story coming soon.
But I have to step out for awhile, story coming soon.
I talked to a guy who gave me some money for passing out flyers for his company in downtown Oakland today. I'm still only working part-time at the shop until I pass my test, so I could use some cash.
Anyway...
The first hour I was in front of the "central building" everything went fine. The next hour I was in front of the Oakland Tribune building...
I'm there for maybe 5 minutes and this middle aged Asian cat comes out and tells me to leave, to keep a long back and forth short, I told him nope, I don't work for you, this isn't even a real job, we have permits to be here, call the cops I don't give a fuck, lol. We go on and on, I'm in in full on confrontational, maniacal, smart ass-hole mode.
He goes inside, I assume to call the police, and out comes a tall, older white guy, who tells me to leave just the same. I look him up and down and tell him I just told that jerkoff I'm not leaving so...no, lol.
He looks at me and says "My name is Tom Henderson, I own the Oakland Tribune building, this restaurant to the left, the coffee shop to the right, and half of the other buildings in Downtown."
I looked him dead in the eye and said "I really, really do not care." Lol. His face dropped, this rich old fuck could not believe someone said that and didn't fall in line just because of his presence. I said "I told that dumbass we have a permit, I'm not leaving, and I do not care how many high ranking dumbasses trot out here." And the back and forth went on for a few minutes.
All said and done, he relented, I stayed, he didn't call the cops and he left. Tom Henderson bought the $8 million Tribune Tower, as well as the attached restaurant and coffee shop. He also owns the I.Mangin Building, Community Bank of the Bay building, Dufwin Theater, and a few other less notables. He has over $100 million more to be invested, mostly in realty. He is expected to bring in another $500 million in new business and 2k jobs in the next few years.
...and I called him a dumbass.
