Six charged in violent Madison home invasion, rape of pregnant woman

Six people accused in connection with a mistaken Madison home invasion in which a pregnant woman was raped multiple times were charged Tuesday, according to state court records.

Michon A. Thomas, 22, Eric D. Bass, 23 and Kristopher J. Hughes, 20, all of Madison, were charged with multiple counts of first-degree sexual assault with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery for the attack early Feb. 23 on Madison's north side.

Efemia A. Neumaier, 21, and DeAndre L. Mayweathers, 23, both of Madison, were charged with armed robbery, and Demarco D. Mallit, 22, also of Madison, was charged with harboring a felon and theft, according to the records.

According to Madison police, the assailants had meant to rob another residence but mistakenly broke into the couple's home on Quincy St. as the two slept.

Despite realizing they had broken into the wrong home, the assailants beat and robbed the couple during the attack that lasted 40 to 50 minutes.

Several of the assailants also sexually assaulted the woman, who was six months pregnant, multiple times, police said.
