ap was talkin about bein on death row but from what i heard he didn't get no money thru the company so he never fucked wit it. there were talks to him about it and that one rapper from the south signed with them during that time, can't remember that north carolina rapper but anywayz death row during that time was not makin any moves at all. they tried to get good rappers but they just never made any good music. all they would puit out is fake death row bs. good ? though. ap a beast and deserves to be on a dope label. It bothers me that no rappers from the bay do well independently inless they move away. It's some bull shit i tell ya. the best rappers are out here but were not square enough to get the likes of 106 n park/bet/mtv. 40 gets love but still not like the big rappers like eminem do. i think 40 would shit on eminem all day long. eminem would spit a bunch of nothing while 40 would spit a bunch of game at that SON....

A few bay artists have actually been offered deals with big labels, however most labels want your publishing and offer slave contracts etc. Most of these rappers you see on tv are going to be paying back advances and debts for the rest of their lives. Independent is where its at in the long-term even if you're only selling 5-10k a year.

I'm sure the AP9 Deathrow thing was around the Bodyshots album time, he name drops Deathrow a few times on that album and i remember him having pics with Suge up somewhere.

That was Petey Pablo. He just disappeared from the face of the earth after signing to Death Row. Shitty for him because the two Death Row albums of his that I have were pretty good in my opinion.
