Seatllish is a fucking awesome website that clowns local and some national news with funny gifs: seattlish , Dan Savage writes the 'savage love' sex advice column http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/SavageLove?oid=18548809, founded the It Gets Better Project It Gets Better Project | Give hope to LGBT youth and is basically the best pop culture advocate for equal rights for the lgbtq community, which, in my mind, is probably the biggest civil rights issue of our day. He jokingly made that quote about seattlish when the paper he edits The Stranger - Seattle's Only Newspaper and they were competing over who could raise more money for homeless youth in seattle. I dunno why they chose that quote when then sent me a xmas card, but I felt pretty damn cool.
Went really well, I landed the job. I did figure out how to tie the tie. It's all about holding the knot as u loop the fat part of the tie through it. After they told me, celebrated with my girl by going out to dinner at this sausage place LowBrau, with a few pints and a couple shots too. shit was awesome. drank some Aquavit for the first time.
but this job is gonna be 40 hours a week, monday to friday, and the pay is good for this area. room to move up too. stoked to have a legit, m-f job and have a set schedule.
also, I went to go into the parking garage job to quit and the guy who hired essentially told me to fuck off, while telling me to call this other manager and letting him know. the second guy (Haitian dude) was totally cool about it and was like "oh yeah man, you gotta look out for you. I get it. and u can keep this job and work part time on the weekends if u want."
so i may do that too, but that'd be working 7 days a week so we'll see.
I start tomorrow. stoked as fuck
