Now that's back in the day when everyone was sampling Funkadelic, Parliament, etc. That was the main reason why I fucked with so much West Coast Rap back in the early 90's. All I grew up on in the household as a toddler through childhood was old funk. Anyway, everything that I have heard using a Funkadelic sample in their music always sounded good (but the original was always better). I swear the song "Knee Deep" never ended when I always heard it as a kid.
a few things here... Hammer was a heck of a performer. I'm not sure there will ever be this type of performer element in Hip hop again but he was a modern James Brown. Dude is dressed down in some straight G clothing in this video, dancing his butt off.
Also, that beat was alright, but not as good as this
It's All Good and Don't Stop (both original and remix) were waaaaay better beats than Pumps & A Bump. But I do give you props because I grew up on MC Hammer and want to see him perform live at least once before I die.
I also wanted to see Kris Kross, but that'll never happen.

I'll have to look those up. I'm not all that familiar with his music. One of the better things to me about that Pumps and a Bump was that it was hittin if you had some subs. He held a free show at the State Fair here a couple years back. I really enjoyed it. People wanted to clown him because of what his career was at one time. I have nothing but respect for the dude and he has some songs I like(d). I met him at Madison Square Garden in 2004 and took a picture with him. He seems like a good dude.
